I'm not being sarcastic or trying to be rude, I'm very curious as to how you rank My Universe so high? Maybe you're hearing something that myself and others aren't hearing. That song feels forced. Forced more than any Lifehouse song since maybe half of Smoke and Mirrors. I really look forward to your reply. For me it's the arrangement. The lyrics are a little forced, right. But the sounds and the melodies almost make me fly 😅😅😂 the backing vocals.. I don't know how to explain. It's so beautiful that I forget how I don't like the lyrics 😂😂 Yeah, I just don't know about that. The background vocals kill me worse than the lyrics do. It reminds me of awful rock bands from the early 2000s. Like this isn't just a bad Jason solo song, I'm having a difficult time thinking of anything ever released by Lifehouse or Jason that is worse. Not even Wash...and I hate Wash! It's not even close. I'd go as far to say that it's one of the worst songs I've heard this year out of everyone. But, it's all good. Even the best artists are allowed a miss every 17 years or so. And if you dig it, that's all that matters. I think I'm jealous I'm not hearing what you are. |

I love the music of the song and the bridge is amazing. I just can't connect to it lyrically. Early on I took it as a Jason God song and I really hoped SCF would avoid that. My big fears as NNF and HBAM were blowing up we're that the band would go down as a one hit wonder or cornered as a Christian band. I listened to the leak of Stanley and nothing stood out as a big enough hit to follow the first record. Then Wash's lyrics seemed to make me think, "oh man, another album cycle of the band explaining their faith". Dangit. Now I'm running through my least favorite Lifehouse/Jason songs. We might have the makings of a new thread. |

Wow...Wash has always been one of my favorite Lifehouse songs. Especially live. I know Rick always says it's one of his favorite songs to drum live too. I definitely see how it can EASILY be a song about faith, but I've just never taken it that way personally. Totally agree about My Precious tho - if there was one Lifehouse song I could erase forever, it would be this one. |

I love Wash.. My precious is my least favorite of Lifehouse.. Even The Joke that kills me the first listen, is so much better.. But realy the atmosphere of My Universe is wonderful to me 😅😅😅

Wow this is so funny how we all agree on one song! I tried listening through Stanley Climbfall without My Precious and it's so much better. Would have made for a good bonus track I suppose, especially as How Long is so amazing and should have taken it's place but oh well. I like the Highways and Low days Songs
My Universe and Survive is lyrically not his best.
Pulse is definitely my favorite song from the EP
I don't really like the lyrics for Forever and Never but musically it's nog bad. I like the drums.
I really like Highways and Loe Days. Good song. I also really like the acoustic Rocket.
"Cause life fly by, like a rocket chasing the open sky" is stuck in my head once i hear it.
