Michigan is saying that there is not enough salt to place on the roads this winter... so they are not going to be salting like they should... If my car gets hit again, or someone I love gets injured, I will be highly mad!
Maybe they would have more money for the salt if the state representative that I went to school with didn't spend so much on his wedding... a lady I work with is his aunt... when I made the comment, "That is where our tax dollars went," she said, "yeah," then tried denying it when i caught her on that...

I'm thankful for a lot of things. Turkey's not one of them . First time making a turkey, and everything that can go wrong with a turkey, went wrong . My in-laws (they're not really, but I feel like they are) told me yesterday that I was to make the turkey. For the past four Thanksgivings, we've always gone with whole chickens from a local restaurant. If I had known that I had turkey duty, I would have practiced at home and made test turkeys. More than anything, I hate being unprepared. They had already bought the turkey, and it wasn't even a full turkey - it was a 6 lb breast. It had no thighs so it wouldn't stay propped up on the rack; I had to put balls of foil to keep it in a semi-upright position. The stuffing didn't stay inside as there wasn't a full cavity. I never got that nice brown color, the skin stayed yellowish. The pop up thermometer never came up because I had stupidly sandwiched a huge ball of foil between the thermometer and the edge of the pan. I took the turkey out of the oven before I felt it was fully cooked because everything else was done already. The turkey was so undercooked at some parts that I decided instead, to cut out the fully cooked slices and put that teeny amount onto the center platter to spare a dozen people from getting salmonella poisoning. I was also so focused on the turkey that I had forgotten to make the gravy or cranberry sauce. Afterwards, my boyfriend's parents took pity on me and stuck most of the turkey in a big pot and they're now making turkey soup out of my failed turkey.

I think I'd leave Turkey in the mediterranean and have a pizza that doesn't sound like a bad idea

apparently I am a narcissistic atheist who is condescending ...that was written directly after my plea for civility. I guess this person doesn't care very much for a fan community. Kinda sad, but not much you can do about it...

I'm just gonna let it go, no purpose in going (further) into an argument you can't win

yeah it's probably best to ignore. There's really no point in arguing with someone who plagiarizes pro-atheist statements and uses them AGAINST atheists... www.truthdig.com/dig/item/200512_an_atheist_manifesto/If this isn't evidence that whatever you say will be put out of context, then I dunno what is...

Well, I agree with her that it's not a philosophy, but if she feels that I claimed it was, she has to re-read what I wrote (well, she should anyways, lol). And maybe I am weak for not believing in a religion, it's harder to stand for it than to deny it, I will give her that. But I don't think there's a point in pretending to believe in something that you don't believe in. That would only make me a hypocrite. I find religion intriguing and a lot of morals and values in all kinds of religions and philosophies I hold dear. The part I don't believe in, is the almight God part, hence the term a(nti) theist (against god(likes)). I was born and raised a Catholic and I read different versions of the Bible, I read the Koran and I read the I Ching, as well as writings and gospels based on Jewish religion, Ba'hai religion & I read about native american beliefs, french-polynesian beliefs, central/south african beliefs & a lot about hinduism & buddhism, so I consider myself relatively knowledgeable on the matter.
So I just don't like it when someone degrades me like someone who is ignorant. I have read countless of documents on ideas, philosophies and religions but have never really been able to identify myself with one of them. And the concept of a higher being that controls everyone and everything is something I don't believe in. If that makes me ignorant, so be it, but I do have the decency to treat my fellow people with the respect they deserve and I don't like it if people don't have the decency to treat others with respect as well.
/end rant/
PS. thanks for that article, that was interesting!

well the same person (under a different nick i assume) posted a picture of hitler over there and said "look i found your twin you really remind me of him".... it's sad that the LH community has reached a new low, I'd expect this from some other places on the net but not the LH community. Luckily it seems to be only one or two very sad little souls who are causing all this drama. So I guess the best solution is to just ignore them. The "is LH a christian band" thread also speaks for itself. You could show them a video of Jason saying "Dear <insert annoying forum user here>. We are not a christian band. I promise you. We are a rock band." and they still wouldn't believe it. F*** them

Well, I wasn't even arguing with them about the fact that they were calling Lifehouse a Christian band, because I don't completely disagree with them. If Jason wants the music to be open to interpretation they can also be Christian, and frankly, Jason's beliefs are a big inspiration for his music as you can see in a lot of aspects, especially lyrically, and especially in their earlier songs. What I didn't like was that apparently the only valid opinion is that Lifehouse is a Christian band, and a Christian band only, and I was just trying to explain that some people see a different side of the band too, and that even the band sees their own different sides.
