I'm really scared. We just got a call from the campus police saying there's been a reported shooting on campus. They said there's no immediate danger, but as a precaution, we've been told to stay in our rooms and not to come out. I hope to god this is a prank (last year, there was a prank call made about a shooting, and the kid got in major trouble). I really hope this isnt true.... I'm just waiting for more news. I'm really freaked out

I just got a text message update that someone was sohti n the leg in one of the parking lots at my school, and the shooters have left campus. They don't think the people involved belong to the college. That's so crazy. from one of my emails: "A shooting in the vicinity of Lot 4 was reported early this morning. At present, it appears that an attempted robbery led to the incident and that one individual was shot in the leg"

at least they're keeping everyone updated. i'm glad no students were involved. wasn't that incident last year (i think?) started by non-students also? geez people, take your crime elsewhere and stay away from our college!

Thanks for all the concern guys! It turns out that last night two groups of men tried to get into one of the activies the school was hosting, but got turned away since they didn't have school IDs, and when they met up in the parking lot, one of the groups tried to rob the other group, and someone ended up getting shot in the leg. No one involved went to my school, and the people that did the shooting have left campus, but now state police are involved and investigating.
on a happier note.. how was everyone's halloween? I had a pretty good time. The night before, me and my friend taped toilet paper all over someone's door, but left a little space on the bottom, and put up a sign saying "Happy Halloween.... crawl under" lol. Later during the day, my school is near neighborhoods that are pretty poor and it's not safe for the kids to go trick or treating, so the some of the kids involved in a special program come to my college and trick or treat in the two big freshman dorms. They're not supposed to come to trick or treat in my building, so my floor threw them a halloween party. It was pretty nice to do that. Later, I dressed up as a flapper and went out with my friends lol

Wow. Well, I'm glad everything's resolved with the shooting. That must have been pretty scary.
I didn't do anything noteworthy for Halloween. It was pretty much just another night. I went out to dinner with a couple of my friends, and then we watched some of The Office - one of the best shows ever, but we just finished the 3rd season, so we're not caught up with the rest of the world yet. We ate candy corns and candy pumpkins while watching, though. There was a party going on at our little town club, but I didn't really feel like partying. I think Halloween is one of those things that's exciting when you're a kid, but when you grow up it's just another day. At least for me.

Wow, I'm glad everything is ohkay with the shooting and all. Your Halloween sounded awesome! My Halloween involved watching the parents and their friends getting tipsy and 'singing' karaoke really loudly. That was pretty scary.

my halloween consisted of making dinner, having dinner and playing a board game with a couple of housemates, i think no one was dressed up strangely (or not weirder than they usually look).. but then again, Halloween's not a big deal over here
