so how's your list coming along? I think I'll just make both threads (songs + albums) tomorrow and people can post whenever. also, should there be a 'worst/disappointing' thread? I figure it'll be interesting, but its not the most positive. haha.

We The Living's new EP "Depths of the Earth" was released today ;D ;D ;D you can stream the full thing at their website or buy it here it'll be released on itunes next month i love it. |

yeah, long time ago. 1. Foreword 2. With One's Heart In One's Mouth 3. Armslength 4. Lights And Shapes also, myspace blog, there's pictures of the EP. kinda disappointing looking to be honest. Anyways, depending on what the band say is the 'official' release date, will determine if it makes my year-end list. also, apparently this is the album cover of Michelle Branch's new album.  She looks so yummy. |

^yeah, i read through the list, but I've slept since then so I forgot most of it.  The jonas brothers disturb me. I really really don't like them. (and they're not even cute. just sayin.) Who else was nominated for best new artist? I'm too lazy to check. |

Lights And ShapesYou might probably think that I’m killing the song for you but this is honestly what I thought about Foreword Lights and Shapes. (Due to my assignment that I've procrastinated for so long now, I cannot spare any more time writing on the rest) If you asked me to name you a 9 minute song that goes on forever filled with every intricate detail of emotions, before listening to Foreword, my answer would've probably been Konstantine. Good God, Konstantine, as much as I love her – seems pale in comparison with the final track in the Foreword EP. Lights & Shapes not only meet up to my expectations but I believe these guys from New York have nailed it by creating one song that would end a setlist with the jaws from the crowd hanging wide open and while they’re at that – it could possibly be the only time for the members to leave the stage! I think the final minute or so of the effect on the guitar would close a set wonderfully. I myself had difficulty trying to clear my thoughts after such an emotionally filled ride – with that ONE song alone. The string section came in at the most unexpected time (right at the beginning!!) and it doesn’t only gel up all these instruments together but it gave a whole softer, questioning effect to the build up. (P/S: I cheated. I listened to Lights & Shapes first before the rest – right after listening to the live version they did a few months back.) While the listener may feel that 9 minutes may be a tiny bit long winded for this piece as a usual 4 mins cut would probably have done the similar job in creating the effect but I think each phase of the song was necessary to make it lovable. Me? I just can’t wait to listen to Lights & Shapes again. However, I think I’ll just rename the song Blasphemy because no one should even come up with a song like that! |

Hmm...I don't particularly love any of those artists, but I guess I'd pick Adele as my favorite out of that little group. I really like the song "Chasing Pavements." But I'm sure the Jonas Brothers will probably win...  Eeek! and in other news, 3 Doors Down finally rescheduled the show I'm going to!! February 14...that's so far away...but yay!!! ;D I'm excited. |

*wall of text about Lights & Shapes* So i wrote a review of it on my blog. I gotta redo my 'best of' list now. damn it. I feel bad for Frightened Rabbit now cuz no one gives it any love and now I have to push it down to number 2. lol and The Jonas Brothers are terrible. I hope they win. did you guys see the Rolling Stone's top 50 of 2008? Guess what number are The Jonas Brothers. But it's okay, Rolling Stone is a joke site. |
