so Third Eye Blind is taking such a long time finishing their new album. early 2009 maybe? anyways, i found this today. linkmaybe I'm reading it wrong, but iono, it just feels like the band is running out of creativity, they are asking the fans to remix their unfinished instrumental and probably will use that as inspirations to finish it. If it sounds good, then i don't care. but it just feels sad that they cant do it themselves. 3eb <3 How are they creepy, Maureen? :0 Unfinished instrumental as in the instrumental album (Symphony of Decay) that was supposed to be released a few years back? I guess they're just trying a few things out with the fans. I trust that they'll do the right thing though. Hmm. I'm looking forward to Jon Foreman's Limbs and Branches (Oct 28th) and of course, the yet to be announced new Switchfoot album :]

3eb came to kate's school last year, and we went. the show was the worst concert i've ever been to. then afterwards, they were on the committee to clean up afterwards, so i helped. the staff got a speicial m&g with the band, and the guitarists was hitting on like on the girls. he kissed mine and nora's hand...not the sweet kind...the lingering for way too long kind. then later, the three of us were standing in a circle just talking to each other, and he comes out of nowhere and wraps his arm around my back, rubs my shoulder and proceeds to make-out with my cheek. my cheek was raped.

Tony did that?! Wow. I'm not sure if I should say "lucky you" or symphatize. I'm guessing it's the latter. All this while, I've always wanted to watch 3eb live - they were in my top list along with the likes of Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin. I think that might be more because of the promise I made with a friend that our first 3eb concert would be phenomenal if they decided to play Blinded and Slow Motion live. Hmmm, that was a good five years back though.

I'm curious for Idlewild's Rod Jones upcoming solo album. The acoustic demos sound okay, but knowing him, it'll get some cool multi-layered structure when they record it full band

I really really like her voice so right now, I'll say it's good. Around the 7 scale for me. ---- Good Old War is good Glasvegas is okay. His scottish accent is too strong for my taste, but i really like their transitions.

picked up a balladeer's new album (Where Are You, Bambi Woods?) today.. it's been out since early september, but I didn't see a chance to pick it up yet. The single I heard on the radio and one of the tracks on the album is a re-recording of an old track (my favorite by them, so that's good). The CD is of at least as high a quality as their debut, and instead of the lead singer's traumatic experiences on a vacation in Germany as a kid (theme for their debut album), the theme is "America" this time, where the lead singer lived for a year as a teenager. Highlights: -When Dean Was The Man (And Monroe Always Smiled) -Oh California -Mary Had A Secret -Superman Can't Move His Legs -Poster Child -America America But every track, in my opinion, is absolutely worth it. They haven't been trying yet, but both their debut album and their new album have hit potential outside of the Netherlands and especially in the UK & US, I believe. Influences range from many different directions, but they can be compared to Counting Crows, The Fray, R.E.M., Silkstone, Athlete, Meese, and some similar bands. Some people also compare them to Keane and especially Coldplay, but I don't see that as much, although it is one of their main influences. What I really like about their style, is that it's not just random love songs or random songs about everyday things. The songs are grabbed from real (and often personal) experiences, it's like musical blogging. "Poster Child" for example is about a news item of a boy murdered in Wyoming, "Welcome To Vegas" has to do with gambling, and there are countless other examples. It makes both the lyrics and the songs more real to me. So I would really recommend it! I remember when i first heard of them (because of you), i couldn't find their album online, but their new one is like the first results on google. That's awesome right? When Dean Was The Man is probably my favorite (for now).
short comments on albums i finally got to listen to fully.
Oasis = sucky Travis = good listen. House of Heroes = panic at the disco clone. no idea why absolutepunk is praising them. The Vincent Black Shadow = like 30% good. William Fitzsimmons = good Joseph Arthur & The Lonely Astronauts = it's nice. Jenny Lewis = boring. My Education = nice instrumental stuff. Rise Against - good Dear and the Headlights - very good Thao with The Get Down Stay Down = good at first, dry towards the end. the Sea and Cake = never was a fan, new album didnt convince me. it's alright for mellowness.

did anyone else feel disappointed with the new Jack's Mannequin?
Keane's new album is pretty different. Maybe it's just me, but I though he really sounded like a mix of Freddy Mercury and that guy from The Killers. Don't know if i like it as a whole. There isnt a song that made me want to repeat it. I guess some of the songs last too long for me so i got bored.
New Animal Collective album in January!
Linh told me about this band, "Gregory and the Hawk" and I really adore it. She sings like a child.

YAY1 Moving Mountains finally uploaded a new song and pre-orders for their EP is up. I ordered 3 so far. Why do i need three? Christmas gifts. so I spoiled myself by listening to the youtube videos of them live, so I wasn't 'surprise,' but it's really clear that Moving Mountains is a 'studio' band...like the way Greg produces the album has a lot of elements of post-rock and it's easier to hear all the details with headphones. The emo-post-hardcore vocals caught me off guard. I thought the screaming was well done on Pneuma, so i didnt mind, but the new track, it just made the whole song 10 times darker. I guess that's the point.

Marit Larsen's new album is okay. I was planning on posting a review of it, but it turned out to be fairly tamed. "The Chase" is a good song in pure pop standards. I like Ray LaMontagne's new one. based on like 2-3 listens, I like it better than his other albums. His voice is crazy raspy. Pink's new one got leaked yesterday (or today). I wonder if Allmusic is gonna give her new one 4.5 stars. They did for her last 3 albums and IMO, none of them deserved to be that high. I listen to the first half so far and it's a lot mellow than what I'm used to. NPR has some new stuff from Vienna Teng and I don't really like it. It makes me sad that she's not making piano pop songs anymore and is towards chamber music. and i just found out last night that Timbaland is producing Chris Cornell's new album. What the heck! why@@@. well it should be interesting. ground zero Timbaland is saying "eh" watch outWomanizer went from 96 to number one in 1 week.
