My halloween didn't exist...I'm in the school band so right after school I had to sit on a bus for 2 and a half hours to go to a football game (which we lost by 30 points, btw (but I don't really care cuz our team sucks majorly this year anyway, plus I don't like football all that much)) and then I didn't get home until about 1 in the morning. Fun fun fun. When I got home I went to my cousin's house (he lives right across the street) and spent the night over there, but later found out that while we were asleep, there was a go-cart that pulled into their driveway around 2 in the morning, turned off its lights, and sat there for like 20 minutes. Then it went down the road to my aunt's house and sat there for a while. My aunt was so scared that she kept a gun in her hand the entire time. Then, last night, I stayed over there again and this time we saw the go-cart as it was driving away. I was freaked out and could barely sleep. So now we're kinda waiting to see if it's gonna come back again tonight. Mikey (my cousin) thinks it's his dad and that's not a good thing. Our grandparents have a restraining order against him because of a long and complicated series of unfortunate events involving Mikey, his mom, and his sister. So this is great fun. But I am glad it's November. November means a trip to Arkansas to see my mom's parents, and also my birthday. That's important, right?

I left work a little early to be home to give out candy. Had about 50 kids come by, which is a little less than last year, which was about 70. the little kids in costumes are really cute, and quite a few parents were dressed up too! It's funny, because Halloween is loads of fun when you're a kid, then as a teenager it's not 'cool' anymore. (you're too old to trick or treat but too young to go to real Halloween parties. In college, it gets all crazy again with parties and dressing up. then it's going to friends house parties, or when there isn't one, staying home and handing out the candy. (One woman came by with her kids, and she was dressed up like a witch, and so was her little dog! Hat, dress with taffetta and everything on the dog! Very funny.)

Yesterday was a very historic day, which I happened to be very pleased with. We elected Obama as the President! We will see change coming our way beginning in January. so much is going to change for me in January because that's when I'm starting graduate school!! Ack!!! I find it funny because a lot of my republican friends (unfortunately, there are a lot of those in the south, and twice as many in Louisiana) are saying that the stock market is down by 300 points, and they say they're laughing bc Obama is now appointed the President, but he has not even begun his reign yet. Bush is still in office. HAHAHAHAA! I must also state that the arrogance and the racism that I'm seeing across message boards and news stories are making me ill. Oh, well, I guess I'm in the slim majority here.... Anyway.....

I'm officially disappointed in the county I live in as a whole. I'm not old enough to vote, nor do I really care about the elections at this moment in time, but at school today, almost everyone was angry that Obama won the election, and when I ask why they bring up a whole bunch of rumors that were disproven a looong time ago. And some of them say outright "because he's black." Someone was actually stupid enough to say "We should move to Mexico or somewhere so we can have a white president." wtf? now come on. I'm thinking the president of Mexico is probably Mexican? just a thought. I guess I'm done ranting now. And, on a completely unrelated note, my cat's gonna have kittens!

It's crazy how Obama is half-white and was raised by his white mother and white grandparents, and yet most people choose not to see that Obama is also white.

I don't get how people forget that we're talking about a person, whether he's black, white, red, blue, green, violet, yellow with polka dots or whatever

^ Melbourne can be quite crazy indeed!
- It would certainly be interesting to see how things would unfold out in the US - I'm sure Obama has a plan to fight the current recession in the economy next year. I pray hope he doesn't make life difficult for us business/financial students by introducing a completely new strategy or something where we'll have to study and put in extra research for it. - I miss October. - Am currently logged in from Starbucks, and someone just tripped over my power cords (are you fucking blinddd?!?) Now my mouse pad is sitting in the trash can and the side of my laptop has evaporated latte all over. That random guy just smiled sheepishly, apologised and ignored me when I ask if he could get serviettes for me. He just walked away! I think the only reason I did not bite his head off is because my laptop is miraculously still working fine. - My sister's getting married in 31 days. Shoot. I haven't finished her slideshow!

I know the Starbucks incident wasn't meant to be funny, but the way you worded it made me laugh! ;D

I think the only reason I did not bite his head off is because my laptop is miraculously still working fine. You just reminded me of something horrible and embarrassing I did in one of my classes a couple of years ago. I was sitting next to a friend who I had actually just met in that class. I had a travel cup of coffee sitting on my desk (one like you get from Starbucks). I should have known that that was a mistake, because the desks are incredibly small, and I had other things on it as well. Not to mention that I am highly accident prone. Anyway, she had her laptop sitting in her lap. I don't know what my thought process was at that moment, but I wanted to move my notebook over, so I just pushed it...and pushed the coffee off the edge of the desk. It lands in her lap. Coffee ended up all over her clothes and computer. I was completely mortified. I wanted to start wearing a mask to that class everyday. It was awful!!! I think her laptop worked just fine initially, but she ended up having to send it in to be fixed. I'm not sure if it was a problem related to my spillage, though. To this day I feel so embarrassed when I even THINK about that incident. I saw her for the first time in awhile the other day and she doesn't even care about it. She laughed at me when I told her I still feel horribly bad everytime I think about it, haha. Needless to say I never took coffee to that class again. Maybe I'm just bad with coffee containers, because in yet another class I had the same type of cup and dropped it on the floor, leaving a HUGE brown puddle. I always seem to be dropping, spilling, tripping over, or running into something, I swear.

Yeah, like those people who still think Obama is a muslim terrorist. wtf? Don't these people do ANY research? It's sad that so many people bought into the hateful campaigning by the republicans and just took the unfounded "facts" that mccain/palin were smearing in their faces for granted. Goes to show you how naive people are. I think all those people should just be moved to Alaska. This way they can spend time with their amazing VP-would-be and live happily ever after, detached from the rest of the US and shooting animals from helicopters. Yeehawwwww!
