I've been entrenched in all of the video that I took last weekend at the Houston/Dallas/Austin Matt shows. I recently uploaded some of the best songs of the weekend (i.e. one's I hadn't heard live before or ever put on YouTube). Here is the link to my YouTube playlist for the three Texas shows: www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=10C7E005A68158BA10/23/08 - Houston setlist1. To The Beat of Our Noisy Hearts2. Sad Songs3. Angel4. I Saw5. Still6. Princess (Jesse's Girl [Rick Springfield] interlude) 7. Laid (James cover) 8. Falling Apart (In A Big Country intro) 9. Sing Me Sweet (The Chain [Ingrid Michaelson] intro) 10. Lost Myself In Search of You (Solo) 11. Suspended (Solo) 12. Somewhere to Hide 13. Gone 14. Car Crash (Breakable [Ingrid Michaelson] interlude) 15. Wedding Dress (Cath [Death Cab for Cutie] intro) 16. All We Are 17. Detroit Waves (Kids In America [Kim Wilde] interlude) 18. Come On Get Higher 19. Take on Me (A-ha Cover)
10/24/08 Dallas setlist 1, To The Beat of Our Noisy Hearts 2. Pretty The World (In Between Days [The Cure] intro) 3. Curve of The Earth 4. Still 5. Princess (Jesse's Girl [Rick Springfield] interlude) 6. Laid (James cover) 7. All We Are 8. Somewhere To Hide 9. Falling Apart (In A Big Country intro) 10. Amazing Again (Losing My Religion [REM] interlude) 11. Suspended (Solo) 12. Maid (Solo) 13. Gone 14. Car Crash (Breakable [Ingrid Michaelson] interlude) 15. Wedding Dress (Cath [Death Cab for Cutie] intro) 16. Sing Me Sweet (The Chain [Ingrid Michaelson] intro) 17. Take On Me (A-ha cover) 18. Detroit Waves (Kids in America [Kim Wilde] interlude) 19. Come On Get Higher 20. All I Have To Do Is Dream (Everly Brothers cover) 21. Answering Machine 22. Little Victories (Solo)
10/25/08 Austin setlist 1. To The Beat of Our Noisy Hearts 2. Sad Songs 3. Angel 4. I Saw 5. Still 6. Princess (Jesse's Girl [Rick Springfield] interlude) 7. Laid (James cover) 8. Weight of It All 9. Falling Apart (In A Big Country intro) 10. Amazing Again (Losing My Religion [REM] interlude) 11. Church Clothes (Solo) 12. I Can't Get to What You Need (Solo 13. Car Crash (Breakable [Ingrid Michaelson] interlude) 14. Gone 15. Wedding Dress (Cath [Death Cab for Cutie] intro) 16. All We Are 17. Take on Me (A-ha Cover) 18. Detroit Waves (Kids In America [Kim Wilde] interlude) 19. Come On Get Higher 20. Answering Machine 21. American Girl (Tom Petty cover)
What amazes me is that over a period of 3 nights, I heard 30 different songs -- half of which I was hearing live for the first time. It was a REALLY fun weekend with my Mom in Houston, about 8 (kids and family) in Dallas and my son and a couple of friends in Austin. Matt keeps it fresh by changing the setlist up night to night -- it NEVER gets old -- which I really appreciate!

I saw Matt last night at the House of Blues Chicago. He was awesome, as usual. I am going to attempt to remember the setlist, but I'm sure I will leave something out. lol. These are in no particular order.
Car Crash Gone Sad Songs Bare Sing Me Sweet Answering Machine Princess Come on Get Higher Heartbreak World (my sister and I were thrilled) Wedding Dress Laid To the Beat of Our Noisy Hearts Detroit Waves (Kids in America) Falling Apart (In a Big Country) All We Are Then I'll Be Smiling Lost Myself in Search of You Somewhere to Hide Starfish and Coffee (Prince cover) Take On Me (A-ha) You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC)
I'm sure I've forgotten something. lol
He did an extended outro to Wedding Dress that I don't think I have heard before, and it was really good.
He also told us about the inspiration for Answering Machine. I guess his girlfriend broke up with him, before he was moving somewhere. He packed his answering machine without realizing there was a message on it, left by her. He plugged it back in some months later and realized what had happened.

I got to see him open for Lifehouse in Boston and he was a really good entertainer. He's really funny in addition to having spot on vocals. At the time, I didn't realize how lucky I was to see him and HoneyHoney there with Lifehouse. It was like being at three really good concerts all in one night.

Dara...it's really hard to miss Matt when he's playing anywhere nearby. What date is he there? Is it a radio show? Seems like that's all that is scheduled at the moment.

Omg, I love Craig Ferguson! I love watching the beginning of the show when he's just talking, lol. It's great. Do you know if he is just performing or if he is actually going to talk with him? I hope he is talking to him...I would love to hear what they would have to talk about, hahaha.
