The show was awesome. I woke up this morning with no voice lol. As usual, I took wayyyy too many photos (and half of the are blurry messes). I got on video: Big Country for Nora + falling apart (and the beginning where he joked about sounded like metallica), a little snippet of a joking sing along, Sing Me Sweet (unfortunately, the first verse got cut off cause I was having camera troubles), Laid, Illusions, him joking about riding his bike around Philly and how much he loves philly lol.
Here's just some random highlights I remember:
- The venue is literally right across the street from Lifehouse's favorite.... Ishkabibble's (cheesesteaks)
- They made us line up in an alley like a block away from the venue (as you can tell, this would clearly cause line drama later). Anyway, inside the alley, we had to line up behind a magician who was doing street acts. It was funny at first but then really annoying after we saw him do the same act like 100 times. Then one of the openers (someone matt found on myspace) came out to do sing-alongs with the people in line. it was the first time we got entertainment while waiting lol
-The venue was really really small. It only holds about 1,000 people, and the distance between the barracade and the stage is literally like 8 inches. We had easy access to see the set list (and the lyrics matt had taped to his speakers ). It was really nice to be sooo close. It sucks that we got separated (especially since I definitely didn't recognize some of the people behind us from the line )
- He screwed up the first line of "Answering Machine" and was in complete shock lol. He was like "I can't believe after 4 billion times of playing that I song, I forgot the lyrics"
-He told us at the beginning of the show that he felt he as extra vuglar the night before so he was trying to keep this show pg-13, and of course, got boos from the audience and changed his mind
-Mandi had sent me illusions before, and I thought it was a great song, but I thought it sounded even more amazing live last night. I was really happy she and Andrea finally got their song.
-I dunno if anyone has shows coming up, but here's the merch that was avaliable: a tan colored shirt that says "all we are, we are" (i got that one), A blue shirt with packed subway cars and the words "matt nathanson" spilling out, a brown shirt with a birdcage and "matt nathanson" written over it, a zip up hoodie with two hands putting a seat belt on, a tote bag, poster, and all his cds.
i'll post photos and videos once I get back to college (I'm at home right now)
