I bought presale tickets, too. I guess Indy must not be a Matt hot spot, because I didn't get them until 12 minutes after the presale started. I'm trying to talk my husband into going along, but he's not sure yet. Tickets were only $15, plus $3 fee - well worth it!

i was working during the presale and it figures that the philly show was one of the ones to sell out. i forgot to give my sister the info to get the tickets. i guess i'll have to wait until friday. i'm debating about whether or not to also go to the nyc show...mandi are you going?

I checked out Matt's fall opener, Jessie Baylin, online last night and liked her. I bought her CD at Best Buy today and am enjoying her peaceful sound. You might want to check her out -- it's my habit to try and know the openers so that I can enjoy them. She reminds me most of Norah Jones, with kind of a bluesy/country twang (not in a bad way). Turns out that one of Norah's past writing collaborators also co-wrote a couple of songs on Baylin's album, Firesight. I also bought pre-sale tickets for the 3 Texas shows today. I'll figure out how to do it....Katie's lucky in that 2 of them are on the weekend. Either we'll road trip or there are others that are anxious to see Matt headline....so, we'll see. I guess I'm going no matter what.........birthday week! woohoo! (as if I needed an excuse )

not sure yet...what time are you guys done class? how many matt fans (other than us) do you think are at tcnj? just to be sure, students can each bring two guests right? on some of the sites it's worded weirdly. one makes it sound like anyone can come, but i'm assuming it's like it's always been and guests can only get in if they're with someone from tcnj. i'm going to try to save myself $5 and get in with my own id but i'll make my sister come just in case it doesn't work. i hope people aren't lame and yell at us to sit down once we get the front row .

There's already 90 confirmed on the Facebook event, and I'm sure there will be some people who decide to go last minute. It's $5 for a TCNJ student. If they bring a guest it will be $5. I am student teaching so it depends what time I am able to leave the elementary school. If all goes well, I should be back around 4:30. Hopefully that will be enough time.
ALSO - My boyfriend works for the radio station on campus and is going try to set up an interview. Any questions you think he should ask ?

me, kate, nora, michele, mandi, and yuliya saw matt at TCNJ tonight. omg...matt was beyond hilarious tonight. i can't even describe how funny he was. my ribs hurt. sadly, we lost track of how many songs---exact setlist, but it was a great size. a lot of fun, but they were nazis about cameras. too bad, too because we were right up in front and could have gotten hilarious/beautiful videos. we did get to talk to matt afterwards and he said it was so much fun to be able to play a different/longer set than the tour with lifehouse. he loved it. i'm excited for philly.

freaking amazing. matt and the band were on fire tonight. he said it's the first real set they've played in awhile since they went from the LH tour to a bunch of festival and radio shows this summer and you could tell. they were all having SO much fun. luckily the crowd at my school wasn't lame and seemed to really get into the show despite only really knowing COGH. matt was beyond hilarious and spent 5 minutes after every song talking about all sorts of random stuff. matt also chugged a water bottle on three different occassions which of course the college crowd loved. it was nice to see some of the personalities of the band come out too. we learned that john likes to talc himself in the middle of the set and after the show, aaron plays weird castle music on the keyboard to serenade people, and konrad has a big head and threw his drumsticks and tried to walk off the stage until matt screamed at him to sit down and play. haha, it was quite a night. talking to matt after the show was fun even though it was brief because we were all standing out in the rain. definitely looking forward to the philly show. i'm trying to piece together a setlist, here's what i got:
Gone Bare Curve of the Earth Princess-Jesse's Girl Pretty the World (added to the set randomly) Lost Myself in Search of You (solo acoustic) Suspended (solo acoustic, requested by me and Nora) Car Crash Come on Get Higher Wedding Dress To the Beat of Our Noisy Hearts Still Falling Apart All We Are Hungry Like the Wolf (also added to the set randomly) Answering Machine Detroit Waves-Kids in America Sing Me Sweet (Encore 1-was a request from the crowd after matt had already bought the band back on stage after his little solo so he said he's do it at the end) Laid (Encore 2-the venue started to play music but the crowd was still going wild so matt came back out and the music stopped. someone requested laid but some of the band had already left backstage and aaron came running back just in time) the first two and the last 5 are in order and the middle is all jumbled. i know he sang the ones i listed but i may have missed one or two). i wish i had checked my watch but i bet the show lasted almost 2 hours between the 15 song set, 2 added songs, 2 encores, and all the banter.

lol!! That sounds great!! I just love Matt. I am beyond thrilled to see Curve of the Earth on that list!! Yay!! I hope he decides to add Suspended after you guys requested it. (I was hoping to see Fall to Pieces on there...)
That really sounds like it was awesome. It's great when he just starts talking about things, and you are like, What the heck? lol.

he was the king of random last night. i was laughing so hard at some points my abs and face were in pain. we took up the whole center section of the front row (it was seated) and i really can't imagine how ridiculous we all looked when he made us claw at the earth during hungry like the wolf.
also, i can't get over how pretty sing me sweet was. it was just him on acoustic guitar and it sounded gorgeous. it's really a shame they didn't let us have cameras. maureen got a video on her phone of him imitating the new kid rock song though.

yeah, us and about 7 other people prowled the outside of the building waiting for him to come out. we saw people with his guitars walk out to the parking lot and yuliya was inside helping so she knew he hadn't left yet so we just stationed ourselves accordingly and waited. it was drizzling but he stopped and chatted with us for a little bit before the other people waiting found us. he was nice enough to take pictures with everyone too (mine is on facebook . he mostly talked about how nice it was to be headlining again, how good of a crowd we were, and how much fun he had. nora asked him to do a full cover of "In a Big Country" and he said that it's on the list of possible covers to perform but he's still not sure which ones he wants to do. he mentioned a few of the others on the list but all i can remember right now is "Eye of the Tiger" and i think he said ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me." i hope he does all of them, haha.
