Jason just posted:
“Rocket” finished up the Highways and Low Days EP. The response to these songs has been amazing, thanks to all of you who shared your thoughts and feelings. The next batch of songs belongs to an EP entitled Winzlo Vol. 1. The first release is due out mid-September, stay tuned for updates!
------ Since we split threads for the last EPs I figured we can make a new one for the next EP.

SO intrigued by the name! Winslow is a town in Arizona, but it's not spelled that way. It has a whimsical, magical sound to it... is this going to be the rest of the Twisted Lullabies project that included Shiny Silver Beast!?

Preview is on US Amazon as well.
My first thought is that Amazon made a mistake & this is the wrong preview loaded to his link. Guess we'll see in a few days tho.

Santa Monica is definitely different from anything Jason has ever made but it doesn't sound that bad IMO

Jason posted this:
So this EP is probably gonna catch some of you a little off guard, because it's stylistically way different than anything I've ever written. I understand it's not gonna be everybody's cup of tea, but I had so much fun recording it I wanted to release it. Just a little context might help. Last year I spent most of the year co writing. My good buddy Winnie was helping engineer and produce all the songs that were coming out of the sessions. All the songs on the "Winzlo Vol. 1" EP were written after hours after our sessions were over. We had so much fun writing and producing these songs together, mainly because they were all experimental and we had zero pressure recording them. We would hang, watch some Netflix and then write a song. It was a blast. After writing songs for so long on mainly acoustic and piano, it was really fun trying some songs completely out of my wheel house. And of course hanging and collaborating with one of my favorite humans on the planet was so much fun. Hope you enjoy!
It’s definitely different from other stuff he’s done, and he’s giving us fair warning now. Hey, if there was ever a time to experiment, it’s now. I think the song’s pretty good, and he’s getting it out of his system. Now, if he tried to release this as a Lifehouse song, I’d be a little concerned lol.

Indeed not my cup of tea. I first thought it was a mistake! Maybe the song grows on me after a few listens. But i like he just doing his thing on writing this. If he feels like experiment, why not. Also good to know he had a fun time writing. Lets see what the rest of the experimental songs would be.

I love the sound of it..but again, it sounds like someone else's music..and the lyrics get lost in the music.. but it's dreamy, and I like dreamy

I kind of dig it. I've always wondered what it would sound like if Jason or the band pulled a Kid A. Kid A, this is not. But it's certainly not awful. Give me this a million times before one note or My Universe.

I LOVE this song! I listen to all types of music and this is something I can really enjoy while driving or just hanging out. It's so different and I think that's why I like it 😁

I think it's a fun song and it's nice to see that he likes to experiment. I can totally see myself with friends on a couch and just chlling to this song.

I like this a lot more than the Highways & Low Days stuff generally speaking! I know it's only the first song but it's a lot less music-by-numbers than those songs to me, and you can feel the creative juices that would have been flowing! Looking forward to what's next

Not what I expected coming from Jason but I like the creativity in this. Curious about the next tracks.
