I've been reading a lot of complaints from fans about how people seem to be judging the album (not so much on the forum, but on twitter and facebook primarily). Comments that insinuated you can't judge the album negatively based on the previews, while a lot of fans judge the album positively based on the same previews, which, in that same logic, shouldn't be fair either. Whether you can or cannot base a judgement or opinion on the previews (and I think you can have an initial opinion), we are all free to our opinions, whether we like the new music or not. As long as the comments are respectful, please also respect people's opinions. Of course we all would like to see Lifehouse do well and we enjoy it when people like the new songs but they don't HAVE to, it's their own choice. With that out of the way.. lets hear what you all think.. start telling us what you notice. What are stand out tracks in your opinion, what do you find remarkable, what do you miss, what did you find but not expect.. lets us hear your thoughts

First off, I agree with you 100%. People should be respectful and everyone is entitled to their own opinion(s). As I said before this album is definitely different. I am not a country fan, nor will this album change my opinion. However, some of the country-ish songs aren't bad from what I can hear. I don't like judging until I have heard it all. I really like "Only You're The One", Aftermath, Pins & Needles, Always Somewhere Close, Where I Come From" and actually Lady Day (kinda reminds me of Maroon 5's Lady Killer). Now for the others, Gotta Be Tonight, not bad, I like it, just I had to get use to it. There is more to say, but I got to go to work so I shall finish at a later time

Well said Koen. This kind of 'discussions" between fans who like what the band is currently doing and those who aren't that enthusiastic happen often recently, especially on Twitter. I'm glad you said it all here. I'm waiting to hear the whole album since I'm still a bit shocked and I really need more time to adapt to changes. It may be something good though!

Yes Koen! that! we can all have our opinions *based on snippets, based on songs, based on feelings, or facts*but those are our personal opinons and as long as they are shared with respect, I think it's a good thing!
so far I can tell I will like the album: a song has to grab me or it does not..btr does not, nobody listen does not..most of the other songs do:D

To be honest, I'm a little bit disappointed at the moment. The songs that jump out to me (Right Back Home, Moveonday & Aftermath) I can already connect to the previews very well, so that bodes well. I think for a number of the other songs, hearing it in full will change my mind, or at least partially, because I have a feeling there'll be more context in which the songs make more sense. But I'm pretty sure songs like Slow Motion and Rolling Off The Stone (and in a lesser amount Nobody Listen, cause I do like the verses, but for me it lacks excitement/climax) will never end up being one of my favorite Lifehouse songs.
I will probably need a little time to let it all sink in, listen to the complete songs when they are released and I might change my opinion several times in that process, but at the moment, lets say I'm hesitant.

Based on these previews the best song for me seems to be "Gotta Be Tonight". I'm sure some of the other songs will get better after some time but for now I can't deny that I wasn't expecting more. I won't pre-order this either. This record just doesnt have that old LF feeling when every second of the upcoming record made me to want some more. Nobody Listen could be Kelly Clarkson's song in other words it sounds so damn boring. Only You The One would sound way much better without 'autotune' at chorus.

If I don't hear the rest of Aftermath pretty soon, I think I'm gonna burst!!!! I really love that one. In my dreams, I think that should be a Grammy winning song ... and I can already picture Lifehouse with a Big Grand piano, and orchestra, and a big ole gospel choir in the background. It's that epic sounding to me from just listening to the clip. Plus I think it is super relevant considering all the aftermath that people are dealing with all over the world not only in their surroundings but also on the inside. Now, I have talked to some fan friends of mine that are not crazy about some of the other songs because they really do not like country. But I have not heard anyone who doesn't love Aftermath. Have other people been experiencing the same thing? I am really excited about this music... it's delightful to my ears! To me, there is not one song that I'd want to skip. It is a confluence indeed!

Aftermath made me think of Signs of Life in the way it increases in intensity

I soooo 1000% agree that Aftermath sounds fantastic!!! I think that song has a big chance to be one of my favorite Lifehouse songs. Just hearing the snippet made me go WOW! I cannot wait to hear the entire thing. I get the feeling that this may just be the new "Everything". It's been a while since I last felt like this about a song. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Nobody Listen. When I listened to it this morning I thought it was meeh. Very repetitive. But I listened to it again just now, and I kinda like it. Also, no one likes Barricade? Because I do. Moveonday doesn't really do much for me. I like Right Back Home. It's different, but it sounds really cool to me. Not really classic Lifehouse, but I would listen it

I'm with you dude. I think Aftermath sounds great, Right Back Home sounds interesting cause of its classic rock/old school vibe which is really cool. But I despise Lifehouse's recent desperate attempts at radio play with these super pop-heavy songs they are putting out as singles. A true shame when those two songs I mentioned clearly show that they do still have the talent to create something unique and interesting and TOUCHING.

Sincerely, at the beginning I was a bit scared with the new album because of "Between The Raindrops".. I like that song but what I felt ... Well, it wasn't that love that I use to feel with Lifehouse's songs...
Since I listened the snippets of the new album, I'm happy! But honestly, I really need to listen the whole album so I can have a secure opinion about that...
For now, my favorites are: - "Gotta Be Tonight"; - "Nobody Listen" (I was a bit dissapointed with the snippet of this song, but after listen the whole version... Yeah, the chorus have an excessive repeat.. But I like the song in general.. More than "Between The Raindrops"); - "Only You're The One" (The beginning of the chorus... wow... Powerful!); - "Aftermath" (I will LOVE this song, for sure!!!); - "Rolling Of The Stone" (It seems to me that this song have a bit of sexy sound/rythm.. I like it..ahah); - "Always Somewhere Close".

Awww.... don't despise them. These guys have to make a living. Jason has an amazing ability to write a hit song. He should be able to capitalize on that to provide for his future. I personally appreciate their willingness to try different musical styles and really create. At the end of the day, this is their livelihood. This is how they survive. They can create hit songs and give the fans some more meaningful music at the same time. I personally appreciate this band keeping their ticket prices reasonable, and am grateful they are still playing and making new music for us. To be honest, I'm a little bit disappointed at the moment. The songs that jump out to me (Right Back Home, Moveonday & Aftermath) I can already connect to the previews very well, so that bodes well.
