I'll keep everyone who's affected in my thoughts and prayers. Karen, the most important is that you and your family are safe.

I made two slideshows...one of the area around my house near Galveston when we first got to go and see the damage. The second slideshow is one of pictures that I took yesterday morning...as hubby and drove around to see how things were progressing. The main observations are that in our area...everyone's underside of their home is trashed, everyone seems extremely grateful that the upper floors are still there and mostly untouched, and that there is an AMAZING amount of trash and debris on the curbs. These slideshows are not meant to depress, we are really grateful that we were not hit worse. They are meant just to share what's been going on here the last week. Slideshow 2 - 9/15/08 First LookSlideshow 1 - 9/23/08 A Week Later

Thanks for sharing the pictures though, Karen! Those are some beautiful beach houses that you showed though. I may have to visit Galveston one of these days! I'll call you if I do ha!
