just finished "the other boleyn girl." as a means to celebrate i stayed in and watched the movie. what a load of rubbish. truly horrible. i cannot say how it would have been had i not read the book, but if youve read it, truly, do not see it. waste of time.. sigh.
im also in the middle of "the unbearable lightness of being" and i cannot put it down. fabulous read if anyone is interested. its by Milan Kundera.

Yay for Eat Pray Love! That, and The Glass Castle are the only books I've read all the way through in like the last 4 years. i've heard The Glass Castle is very good. my abnormal psych professor was obsessed with it. it's on my list of books to read. right now, that list is looking pretty long though. so far i'm loving Eat Pray Love.

Unbearable Lightness, I did read that one from start to finish a looong time ago. I love that book. Seriously, let's discuss that book... ;D i just finished it last night. i seriously could not put that book down! and i will admit.. the part where karenin was put down seriously had me crying... my dogs are nearing that age and man. breaks my heart. i also absolutely adored how the author had a voice in it. it wasnt just a typical fiction novel, it had parts of philosophy in it and random anecdotes from the author.. oh man. i cant even describe it really but as you read it you know. lol i just loved that part of it as well.

it was great!! Her daughter, Paula; became really ill, she went into a coma then she woke up but spent almost a year in a state in which she couldn't talk, eat or move and her mother(Isabel Allende) took care of her day and night!I honestly dont know how Isabel Allende wrote this book..it is so personal and sad, it moved me the way she wrote about her daughter, I think she was really brave she had the faith, she believed that her daughter would be OK after all. I think I can relate to the novel..my mom died of cancer 4 years ago and I remember when my dad would take care of her. so, to me, it was a very touching novel.

"The Glass Castle" was great, and as a social work type person, I really loved it! I also read "A Child Called It", which was also a great read if you're into traumatic/inspirational type stories! "A Child Called It" is written by Dave Pelzer.

Oh, and I also recently read "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. I'm sure you've heard about it because Oprah has been ranting and raving about it, and she has even gone as far as to offer online courses about it and all. I thought it was a mediocre book to be honest. It was interesting at times, and it gives you a deeper understanding of people in the "spiritual" sense, but it seemed a little repetitive at times to me as well. What do y'all think??

i'm currently reading "Gathering Blue" by Lois Lowry. I love her. She writes a lot of young adult fiction, but i have to say her "young adult" is much deeper than some "adult fiction" i've read.
also, i know some of you wanted to read my teleplay that i just finished during this past year. if you'd like to read it, just send me a PM with email. i don't feel comfortable posting a direct link.

"choke" by chuck palahnuik. its not as morbid as i expected considering most of his other books. and im reading it surprisingly fast.. while i dont really think of it as a "page turner," the amount of pages i have so far read tells me otherwise. ill let yall know how i like it once im done.

currently reading the Twilight books.
i must say, i cannot stop reading them, but i dont think i would ever read them again.. theyre written for a young audience i think, or just the author thinks extremely low of her readers' intelligence. either way, theyre very fun to read now, and i would recommend them, but keep in mind they arent amazing works of literature.
