I know this probably isn't much help because the circumstances are so different with your sister, but my friend had a baby at 27w2d and she is a perfect, healthy 2-year old today!! I wish your sister and your family the best of luck that everything goes as well as it can. Fight, baby Christian, fight! Please keep us updated.

she just had a c-section about an hour ago. they were working on getting the baby stabalized and then he'll have surgery to remove the tumor. so far things look pretty decent. they say he looks pretty big for expecting a baby so small. thanks for thinking of us. it really means alot. this is going to be one big miracle. keep praying; it's working!!! i'll post more when i get an update.

I'm so glad the baby is doing well. How big is he? I'm still sending prayers.

they said he was 4lbs, but that's cause he had all that fluid in him, but they think he's at least 2.5 to 3 pounds without the fluid. he's supposed to have surgery today to get rid of the fluid and heart tumor, so we really need prayers. i'm also going to visit my sis and my nephew tonight so i'll probably post more tomorrow.

Do the doctors have any speculation if the tumor/fluid and the surgery to remove them will cause any long-term health issues? I will be thinking of you all today and watching for your update whenever you have time.

You will all be in my thoughts and 3 pounds is great for a baby so early.

I keep checking this thread hoping for good news. 3lbs is a good thing for a premee, so maybe that's a good sign!!!

Christian made it through surgey pretty well. they removed the tumor and some more fluid. i got to see him and he's so cute! i'm a mom and an aunt all within 4 months. thank you, thank you, thank you all for all the thoughts and prayers. God has just been so awesome! We still need prayers as it'll be awhile until he's out of the NICU, but what a miracle. even the doctors are still amazed!
