what can they do to repair it? I've been trying to think of stuff they could do, because they can do in utero surgeries if its at all repairable...

we don't know what they can do. it doesn't sound like they can do anything inutero, which u think they could. basically she just has to wait and see. it's so heart-breaking!

from my sister's e-mail today: "I felt so weak and ill last week on top of the added stress of grandma dying on Sunday. I just could not wait another week to see the doctor. Thankfully, they were able to squeeze me in this afternoon. Here's the update: The tumor is still rapidly growing, approximately a half an inch every two weeks. Little Christian's heart rate is still good, but the tumor is pushing slightly on his heart and lung. The rapid growth of this tumor is making it extremely difficult to keep him in me long enough for him to fully develop. We're hoping I can hold out another five weeks. If the growth of the tumor starts compromising his organs or the baby is in distress, I will have to rush to Ann Arbor earlier! A normal preemie without these issues cannot survive if delivered before 24 weeks. I will be at 24 weeks this upcoming weekend. Pray that I can make it to the 28 weeks, if not longer, so Christian has a better chance of surviving. I just still cannot believe in a matter of weeks, I will be in the hospital delivering a baby! Pray Pray Pray.... ~Melissa"

This is so disheartening. I guess there is nothing they can safely do to slow the growth of it or I'm sure it would have been done by now? I hope baby Christian can hold out a little longer to be safely delivered.
