It's over, I mean the race has been over for awhile i guess but now it's officially the end. Obama will be the nominee. It reached the point of impossiblity that she can no longer deny and it seems that she is taking the first steps towards dropping out.

Her speech tonight indicated to me that she plans to nag on until August. Why can't see just accept defeat? It's pathetic now.

You guys are correct. This race is over. The fact that she had to loan her campaign $6.4 million dollars, she had a horrible night last night, and there is a tsunami of superdelegates now ready to come out for Obama means that this thing is a done deal.

I don't think it's up to here anymore. She has gone from being somewhat viable to Mike Huckabee. She doesn't even have a chance to win on any metric. Pledged delegates will be Obama's, Popular vote even with Florida and Michigan counted in will still be Obama's. I suspect she'll be out by June. I suspect she'll drop out May 21st. Her campaign does seem to be doing things a campaign does when it's ready to quit. She may keep going a little longer but her dreams of winning at the convention are gone.

I think Obama will have to pick a Clinton guy to appeal to the bitter Clinton supporters. I would really like to see Gen. Wesley Clark be his running mate.

It seems that every reporter has a different story about wheter or not Clinton wants to be the running mate. Some are saying she wants it, some that she doesn't , and some that she just wants to be asked. If she wants it, he'll almost have to give it to her. If it's not her, here's a short list of names I think of: Ted Strickland, Bill Richardson, Mark Warner(or Jim Webb), Tom Vilsak, and Wesley Clark. I like Strickland because Ohio is essential for Obama to get to 270, because I think Florida won't vote for him. I like Warner or Webb because Virginia could be in play with Obama and could be part of a new map for Democrats.

Hillary won't be his running mate. I think all the superdelegates will be smart enough to see that she won't be able to add anything (other than baggage) to the ticket.

My only problem with Strickland as the running mate would be that he wouldn't be our Governor any more. How come no Strickland love? I mean after 8 years of Taft this is so much better.

He would be one of my first choices though, too

^That seat is vunerable because Warner is retiring, so I think it's best for him to run for Senate. I'd really like to see the Dems pick up a couple Senate seats this election, so we won't have to depend on Liberman for a majority. I really like Jim Webb and the Dems wouldn't lose the Senate seat because The governor in Virginia is a Democrat.
I really don't want Ted Strickland to be the running mate now due to developments in Ohio politics.
