Jason and Steve did a Reddit AMA for Ozwald ( link). And someone asked about Lifehouse. Jason's reply was " We'll be playing Lifehouse shows as soon as we can, I have 6 new Lifehouse songs that are completely finished, probably finish the record next year sometime."
I saw that too, totally didn't expect it at all! I like the Ozwald stuff but it's so low-fi and poorly mixed and mastered, I'm dying to hear a good recording of J's voice for the first time since OOTW. Even Paper Cuts was a little muddy, and everything since has become more so (Head Movies is the worst culprit in my opinion, as good a record as it is). I wonder if Steve would do bgvs or if Bryce would remain on that duty? There have been a few new song titles that came up on BMI the last month, but they've been mostly cowrites with some of J's typical Sony cowriters, likely to sell to other artists (industry stuff, and all that blah blah blah).

That answer was really unexpected. I was thinking that Lifehouse would break up for good this time after canceling the tour. But 6 new finished songs. It looks like Jason was waiting for the right ones. The 'flights' or the 'hanging by a moments' ones. Øzwald looks like a practice to him. I think the new album maybe will be released in 2022 only, but surely will be "worth the wait".

The fact that so much time will have passed between OOTW and this new LH record gives me hope that it will be filled with quality songs.

I saw someone start a tag #BringLifehouseBack Could be possible if the fans start to use it, the guys notice and do something as a band? Even a farewell tour for the next years when pandemic is under control. What do you guys think? Can we try this as fans or would be a bad idea?

I guess we’re really running out of time for them to do anything this year to commemorate NNF’s anniversary. Jason had mentioned more than once that he was planning something but it seems far fetched to me at this point.
Also seems like he’s done a 180 from the AMA saying he had some LH songs for the future, to basically saying in a more recent interview there is no LH status currently.
Sad, sad year it is...

After an eternity of saying 'new store coming soon', there's a new merchandise store up online! Looks like the same supplier that Allswell has been using for J and Ozwald t-shirts and hats for the past while. There are some cool newish photos up there too, and you can even get a framed photo of the band if you want lol
I kinda like the black and white band photo t-shirt but I bet shipping would be a fortune.

A 2021 update, rather than 2020, but Jason posted on facebook and Instagram:
"Lots of new music coming in 2021... Including some solo stuff and new Lifehouse jams..😊"

Just saw that and you beat me to it Oh happy day! I've been enjoying the Øzwald stuff and it's very well-crafted, but the first was my favourite and I find myself drawn to maybe half of the songs on each of the subsequent albums. In terms of pure background vibes they're second to none, but I do miss Bryce and Ricky and the hi-fi sound of Lifehouse. J solo stuff these days seems to basically be Øzwald minus Steve's vocals, so curious what that will be. Demos Vol.2? Will be keeping my eyes peeled for new song titles for y'all!

Lyrics to Ode to Silence looks real good. But I bet it's a Jason Wade's song though rather than Lifehouse's

trendandchaos.com/interview-ozwald/ "We’re going to be putting out a lot of new music this year – we have our next ØZWALD record ‘Young Suburban Minds’ that will come out in June as well as another in December, we put out two a year and this will be year 3. Some covers in between that as well as new music from Lifehouse, Jason Wade’s solo songs and Steve Stout’s solo songs – all on our little label ALLSWELL RECORDS that we started together. Thanks so much for chatting with us!"

With Coldplay, The Killers, John Mayer and so many other musicians are releasing new stuffs this year, I feel like missing out that Lifehouse are not releasing any music apart from Cut & Run. Also do we know when Jason gonna release part 2 of his demo?

Also do we know when Jason gonna release part 2 of his demo? It's funny, I was thinking about the Demoes Pt.2 the other day! He's been busy with Øzwald so I bet he and Steve just haven't got there yet. As for Lifehouse I hope they do something – the song kind of came out of nowhere from our view, so if they worked on it in secret and then just dropped it, I can see them doing it again at some point. Random side note, but the latest Øzwald record is awesome! Easily my favourite, they really seem to have honed their sound and especially their mixing and production. It doesn't seem to suffer from the muddiness of some of the other albums, and it's a sunnier sounding group of songs too. I kinda started losing interest during the For Polly Anna album release, but this one just does it for me and I'm glad for it

The new Lifehouse song has dropped here in Australia since it’s already Friday here and I must say that this track is different from them and it wasn’t what I was expecting at all even though I had no idea what to expect. The new song is called Dragonflies and to not give much away, it’s a complete different direction than where Cut & Run went. It’s a ballad but not like any other Lifehouse ballad before it. It kinda feels cinematic and is very string driven, I don’t know how else to describe it. I’ve listened to it a few times now and what I can say is that it’ll either grow on you or it won’t, I can see it going either way depending on the listener.
Also, hello, it’s been a while since I’ve posted here 😄
