The whole thing is very strange. I don't know why Wish couldn't get released yet again. It got released in 2002 on some international versions of Stanley and then again for Wasteland. As far as I know, since Jason is the sole composer of these- they're his to do with what he pleases. Wish was never included on international albums to my knowledge; it was on a first pressing demo version album (note the different spelling) as the final track, but was never in a record store or published by anybody until 2015: OOTW was released independently but through Kobalt for distribution, not sure if that has anything to do with it. He's also signed to Sony now, so perhaps they have some sort of hold on his solo releases that clashes with releasing already-released stuff. Could it be something to do with online publishing, since Clarity got rereleased and was originally only sold in-store at Target? Idk I'm totally making up stories now. 'Sink or Swim' is beautiful! Similar to Stretch but I think it's more interesting, gorgeously layered and I feel like it really ties the whole album together in a way I didn't expect a song could.

Central Park was on OOTW and Paper Cuts so if he said he can't legally rerelease Wish, I'm wondering if he can't release that one either. I'm expecting Angeline after this song... looking forward to tonight! Was Wish for legal reasons? Wasn’t the album independently released? I know he said something about possibly not being able to release it. I’m more confused now because of his Instagram post regarding releasing Central Park from Paper Cuts. Guess we will know in 3 or 4 weeks lol I think he was getting at the fact that his trip to NYC brought about two songs, one which we already knew and another that he would be releasing soon! I never got the sense he was going to rerelease Central Park but maybe I read it wrong too.

When someone says "Jason is putting out some solo music" THIS is exactly what I would imagine. Very well written & composed, clearly VERY Jason, but still a twist to it (folksy, country vibe) that doesn't fit with Lifehouse.
Absolutely love this one! It's getting harder & harder to pick a clear favorite out of these.
I wonder how many more we'll really get. I can't imagine this will go up to or even past the Greatest Hits release or during the tour once it starts. I never want this to end, tho! As he said himself, he has dozens of songs we've never heard!

I really like his solo songs. I like that folky sound. I just can't stop listen to "Goodbye" and "Penellopieces" "Goodbye" because it's so completly different from the other songs. I think that's why i probebly like it. That piano part in Penellopieces is just amazing! I also really like "Breathe Easy" "Chaper Two with the drums sounds like the "Smoke and Mirrors" time. I like that folky sound on "Stretch" I didn't like "Shiny Sliver Beast" in the beginning. I think because i was expecting completly something else. I didn't know what to expect, but absolutly not this. Now it's one of my favorites on Paper Cuts. These lyrics are amazing. "Sink or Swim" is very nice too. We only need the other versions of "Angeline, Wish and Central Park" I love the Lifehouse version of "Central Park" so much that i'm affraid to be dissapointed by a other version. "Angeline" has never been my fevorite. Still i want to hear them.

Angeline is the next release 😊 youtu.be/FsMXNtHXvDoEdit: It seems the link disappeared off YouTube. I don't know what's up with that. Edit #2: It appears to be back on YouTube and it's available on iTunes now in Australia. It sounds like it's the same version as it appears on the US Out of the Wasteland but the background vocals sound a little different but other than that, it sounds very much the same.

Someone with better ears will have to break down the differences between this & the Lifehouse version for me...
First quick listen in the car & it just sounds like the same exact version to me.

Yeah I ran the two tracks together on Garageband and kept switching between them, couldn't hear any difference although it wasn't on my headphones. Glad to know it's finally out but I was hoping for something with more acoustic guitar like the original performance. It's interesting that the version we first heard on the Target OOTW was the very first 100% Paper Cuts song we ever got to listen to!

A week late, but Sink or Swim is finally on Amazon - duh - and I absolutely love that song! Of course Angeline is not up yet, but seems it's not that tragic if it's the same version.

I agree with Carl (shocking!)! I ran it through a similar program and if there's any differences....it's incredibly subtle. I had one version in one ear and one version in the other ear and I couldn't pick out any differences.

I wonder what will happen this Friday whether he'll end up releasing either the Paper Cuts versions of Central Park or Wish or would he progress onto whatever comes next after Paper Cuts

Here's an update from Jason's Facebook page a few moments ago:
"I hope you've enjoyed the tracks from Paper Cuts. It's been so great finally getting to share them with everyone! The collection will be released as a digital CD next month and a new lyric video from Paper Cuts will be released tomorrow in lieu of a new single.
July 11 marks the beginning of a new series of singles. It's been such fun being a part of everybody's Fridays, I wanted to see what I could do for your Tuesdays!"

I'm confused after reading that. What's he talking about Tuesday's for? All releases are on Friday's now. Also....what's a digital CD? I assume that he means all 12 songs to download at once as an album. I hope that there's a way to not have to download/pay for the full thing if we've already bought the singles.
