I wonder if Jason will release Paper Cuts as an Album CD? Fingers crossed. I think I remember him stating he has 1,000 copies in his garage. But he's also mentioned that he's not sure if he will be legally allowed to release the album version of Wish. So there are some variables in the way to releasing it. Doing a digital album would be easier. |

Penelopices is such a lovely and fragile song. After the last two weeks with Chapter Two than Stretch and now this I cannot wait what is coming next week.  Agreed! I think these last three are the best yet, each has been stuck in my head since first hearing them and I don't mind one bit. REALLY looking forward to Goodbye and SSB, and I'm also curious what 'Breathe Easy' and 'Sink or Swim' will sound like. Hoping to hear the Paper Cuts version of Angeline too; since we got Clarity (which was also on the Target bonus track version) there's no reason we shouldn't. As much as I love that song I found the final version a bit bubbly for my liking so maybe the original will be less so. The PC versions of Central Park and Wish are pretty unlikely at this point but here's hoping! |

I agree with most of you -- I think Stretch and Penelopieces are the best of the singles he has released so far. The chorus definitely sounds like something Elliot Smith could have recorded. The verses sound reminiscent of older LH bsides for me.
To be honest though, I don't know if I would want a PC version of Wish. I really love the raw demo bside we have, and felt the Out of the Wasteland version wasn't as good as the demo. I think the demo version is just so close to my heart that I fear no recorded version will ever be able to live up to it.

J just released the demo version of Paper Cuts on his YouTube channel, interesting to see how the song evolved. I have to say I like the final better It loses so much of the punch in the chorus, without the clattering beat and the big vocals. This vocal track is comparatively mundane, albeit without effects. |

Breathe Easy is available now in Australia despite it being Thursday morning, I'm guessing he's releasing it a day early, and from first listen, I got a little bit of a Who We Are era vibe from it 😊
