hey guys, long time no see (for those that remember me anyway) so yeah.. so bloody excited when I read this news earlier today! and i was just doing some research and found out that the tickets for the festival they are appearing in goes on pre-sale monday midday here (a few hours from now) in aussieland. but actually i registered on the website and i can buy it right now! it's a little bit expensive $179 for the single day for GA standing.. or an extra $100 for the platinum zone standing. anyways, considering it's a festival, their set is probably not gonna be as long as a standard set. I'm guessing it'll be a 40 min set (but hey i'm not complaining, i'll take what i can get!). especially since they're obviously not the headline act (Billy Joel is actually). however, they are one of the first few confirmed bands. I'm just wondering though if they will do other gigs around the country? the last time they came here in 2002 (just for another musical festival actually), they didn't as far as I know is there a way to find out? any email I can contact? cos if they do, i will absolutely follow them around the country! anyways thanks a lot to anyone that can help

i would be surprised if they didn't use the opportunity to play some more shows in Australia while they are over there. Seems like a bit of a waste to travel all the way out there for a 40 minute set, lol. I'd hold on to that money for now if I were you...and holy shit, that's expensive!!!!!!!!!!

Cyril, right? Welcome back! Hurrah for a show in Australia at last. I would take that leap of faith and travel to Sydney for the show but yikes, I'm not sure if I can afford those tickets for a short set. i would be surprised if they didn't use the opportunity to play some more shows in Australia while they are over there. Seems like a bit of a waste to travel all the way out there for a 40 minute set, lol Lifehouse's four gigs in Asia these past few years were all only for one show in every visit. I am still baffled as to why they did not take the opportunity to do an Asia Pacific tour especially since there is such a huge following here. Granted, each of these four shows were heavily sponsored by the odd VVIP or some royal prince. Anyway, Stone Festival does seem like a rather odd gig for Lifehouse - especially since with the release of Almeria I would expect their target is of a newer audience. I quote the organisers of the festival, Lifehouse may have been around for over a decade, but surely a 10 year non-visit pales in comparison to Van Halen's 25 years since the band's last visit to Australia? I'm just saying, this is going to be a very interesting audience. Still crossing my fingers for headlining shows though! Not giving up hope for an Asia Pacific tour. Edit: Oh and I suppose you could start attempting to email some of the people off this contact list from the organiser's website. Perhaps ask them for a lead to an email address from the Lifehouse team. I'll keep an eye out too should there be any murmurs between the organisers at this side of the region

Great news that they are going to play in Australia again. The tickets do seem to be expensive though... But then again, I have no idea what the conversion rate is from Australian dollars to either euros or American dollars. So maybe they just seem expensive?? Sorry, I'm clueless

i just found out about this (haven't been on the boards much in the last few years) and got extremely excited to see that lifehouse are finally coming back to australia! unfortunately i don't think i can justify flights to sydney and such an expensive ticket to see them play a short set. i'm disappointed they aren't doing any other shows...i'd fly there to see a full-length show! at m-one they only played 6 songs, but there were heaps of other bands i wanted to see in that lineup...this one i'd literally only be there to see lifehouse. please let us know what their show was like though CVonV...i'm really glad you'll get to see them again, it's been a long wait!

Sad news guys Quote from Lifehouse Facebook page: "Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, it is with deep regret that we must announce that we will no longer be participating in this year's Stone Music Festival, taking place this weekend in Sydney, Australia. We sincerely apologize to our fans that made plans to come see us. We had been looking forward to coming back to Australia after a long absence and we're extremely disappointed that we will not get to play for our fans on this occasion... " Bummer

my girlfriend got me the most amazing birthday present ever... and then lifehouse get cancelled........................... talk about heart break! i wonder what the reason is? it's quite sudden and there are plenty of fans that are coming from interstate and spent a good fortune for the weekend just to see them. i doubt anyone will get refunded... what's funny is that earlier this week the tickets were put on sale for almost 50% off.. and then just yesterday there was a further 2 for 1 sale on those already discounted tickets! this festival has fail written all over it! i wonder what this "unforseen circumstance" is... perhaps contractual issues with the promoters? but i hope it's nothing band related... it's a bit worrying that they haven't been touring much in the states.. apparently announcements for shows in feb never came? and it was only 2 days ago that bryce tweeted that they were on their way the next day :/ i cannot begin to explain how devo i am

So sorry for you and other Aussie fans...
This is really strange. I mean, if Jason would get sick, they'd probably say it. I even think he'd try to perform knowing how many years you guys waited. When I saw that announcement my first thought was it may be some trouble with festival management or something... or maybe private issues that all of us would probably understand and they don't have to reveal those to us.
I just hope they will find a way to make it up to all of you!

well they just confirmed that them cancelling has nothing to do with the band... so they musta been cut because the event is losing money
also, instead of lifehouse being replaced.. they just made it start later and pushed the earlier acts back

Anyone else think it's really shitty they announce this basically ON THE DAY OF when some people have paid upwards of $200 to get a ticket? I really hope they get reimbursed.
