I wonder if a b-sides album will ever come about. Not like we don't already have the majority of the songs that would most likely be onto the album. I still am hoping for No Name Face and The Edge haha ( I can dream can't I? ) It would make sense after this album to take a tour, put out another Lifehouse DVD (continuing the music videos and some live performances), and just compile a b-sides album of songs they already made (obviously), like What Happens Next, Georgianna, etc. While those are released, they can just rest, disband for a little while. See their families, enjoy themselves. You know? Then go back on tour then focus on another album way down the line.

Lol, when I meant disbanding, I didn't mean now haha, after they release the dvd and b-sides album. I think that will give us LH fans something to entertain ourselves while the band takes a break. That's all. That could be a year from now or two I don't want to see them do that, but they deserve that and perhaps if Jason were to have a kid he can write about more intense meaningful stuff that most of you feel that you can't find a lot of anymore

What decisions they make based on their personal lives and wishes is up to them. I don't feel like that would be any of my business, so I'm gonna leave that part out of the equation. I'd like a b-sides album, but I'd rather see it as a bonus disc/2nd disc for an album than as a separate release. Because it most likely only reaches existing fans and doesn't reach out for potentially new fans of the band as a b-sides album hardly ever gets a lot of attention.

the 90's post-grunge scene still has a huge underground following, so commercially, you can still be very succesful. The general direction though has gone towards pop-folk and folk-rock. Lifehouse isn't fit to be 'folky'. It's not really in their nature.. it may be fine for a song or two, but not a whole album. But there's a niche between the folk-rock and the uptempo indiepop where Lifehouse could really shine and be extremely creative. I wished they would've gone more into that direction as I feel that would come across more natural for them. Also, I hope there are a lot of demos where Jason went back to the roots of his songwriting, where he delves from personal inspiration, which was more evident on the first 3 albums. Not necessarily back to the sound of those albums, but the personal touch, the deeper meaning and the imagery. A band can still be commercially successful with a more grungy vibe, but I think the chance of commercial success are much slimmer compared to a more poppy song. But this is based on my gut feeling and not on any statistics. As for the personal touch and imagery, yes I would like that too. And I think we might just be getting some of that on the new album with Aftermath and Barricade and maybe some of the other songs as well.

That awkward ironic moment when everyone talks and nobody listens. hehehe I did spy an interesting tidbit on FB... someone asked Mr. Jude Cole about the song and he said that Jason wrote the music and he added the lyrics. That made sense to me somehow when I read that. I like Nobody Listen a lot, but it's definitely not one of my faves from the album. Sometimes I'd like to know how singles are selected and what the reasoning is behind it. Because sometimes I wonder if they pick the ones they think are going to do well because it sounds radio friendly, but maybe something like Aftermath could do really well just because it would stand out so much from other music on the radio. It's almost like they don't give the public enough credit for recognizing amazing music when they hear it. IDK... I know there's a whole commercial side to this that I probably don't understand, but at the same time, the public craves real musicianship too. I think that's why there has been a movement towards more folk rock as of late. It seems to be a counterpoint to the trend towards bubble gum pop. Don't get me wrong though, because I like all sorts of music... even the most bubble gummiest of pop can be fun to listen to. Anywho... just some of my random thoughts... I listened after everyone talked!!! hahaha

Simplest lyrics...Jason never wrote songs that had one line and the next line that ended in a rhyme. Kindof disappointing! Nobody listen X10 Oh X10. When did Jason stop trying to say something?
What ever happened to between the raindrops? I feel like it hasn't been played at all, and they are releasing a new single already?
Other songs sound better so we will see. I was really excited this morning listening to the minute and a half snippets and my excitement has fell a little.

Jason didn't write the lyrics. Jude Cole did.

I hate to speak ill of one of my favorite bands and Im going to reserve FULL judgement for the record next week... but with the first 2 songs (this and BTR) Im not overly impressed. It just seems like with every album Im losing more and more interest in them. I really loved 2007's "Who We Are", but hearing "Halfway Gone" before S&M came out I knew something was changing. They are continuing down that same pathway with these 2 new songs. Hell, just the drum beat in the beginning of this song sells you on what kind of song its going to be before the chorus hits. Its too predicable and the layered vocals and effects are going overboard. Just like the above said, the personal touch and deeper meaning to the music is gone.
When I go back and hear a song like "Trying" or "Somewhere In Between", songs that touch me emotionally and then I listen to this ... Im just dumbfounded Jason did both.
But to each their own. This is just my opinion and if you guys dig it thats awesome.

I have to say Nobody Listen is growing on me, I am really listening to the lyrics and see something I haven't seen before.
