I never preorder albums, but Moving Mountains have no label. Can't really think of a favorite booklet, but I completely love albums that are not jewel cases...they just seem 'new' and therefore feel like this decade. O yeah, the decemberist new song, "the rake's song," i'm not excited for the new album anymore. but i guess we'll see when i hear it within the content of the album. New U2 song is kinda...whatever too. but i like the album cover. simple. I can't believe "The Wrestler" wasn't nominated for an Oscar. and Liz, because you're the music mod, are you gonna make a 'best albums of 2000s' list? if so, what are some essential, but often overlooked albums I need to check out. I didn't start digging deeper into music til 2006ish so I've been trying to backtrack. Too bad savage garden was 1999. And koen, you can answer too. and lizzy, why aren't you on msn, do you want the yellow cover or the greyish one? How was your mogwai concert? Did you feel like a real boy? and yay 2nd page.

2000s as in 2000-2010? We'll see how it goes.
Overlooked albums? I suggest you should start looking at my Myspace list. I don't think it has been updated since 2006 however (the irony).
I'm still attempting to figure where I get the source of trojan from. So I've only limit myself not to multi-task too much while I work things out. And I can finally say that I'm back from a hiatus. I called you during Mogwai. Did you pick up?
About my Mogwai gig, I was thinking of starting a Live! Sub-Forum for people to post up (past/future) reviews or thoughts regarding gigs/concerts that they've been to. It would also act as a sort of place to keep track of the gigs you've been to I suppose. Five years down the road, perhaps you'll be able to look back at the exact date and your thoughts of the concert. Would be nice to read up on another person's experience. Being a music community I'm sure plenty of us here would attend other concerts as well. I notice there are a number of threads regarding live shows... a little cluttered however. Koen, what say you?

Cheryl! So good to see you back I'm pretty sure you'll be heading to the Coldplay gig in a few weeks' time?! Monica got her tickets already, I hope? HATE that they're not playing here. Sigh. But anyway, I could possibly just come down to Singapore again in April for that Rachael Yamagata gig at Esplanade. I suppose we'll see how it goes :]

QUARTER MARKonly two albums so far I feel will make my end of the year list. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion Music video for "My Girls"Balmorhea - All is Wild, All is Silent Favorite songother albums I rank pretty high: Dakota Suite - The End of Trying (instrumental music) Dan Deacon - Bromst (very talented useage of sound collage) Emmy the Great - First Love (simple folksy music from a young girl) RURUTIA - Seirios (new-age music from japan, female vocalist) VA - Dark was the Night (an indie music checklist) The Boy Least Likely To - The Law Of The Playground (Tweepop) The Lonely Island - Incredibad (It's the Jizz in my Pants group) Bomb the Music Industry! (go download it, it's free)) Disappointments: Fiction Family (silly jon foremen) The Fray (I was hoping they would evolve) The Decemberists (I like it, but at best... had 3-4 good moments) Manchester Orchestra (the hype on this is pretty huge. I don't get it) Peter Bjorn and John (it's different.. less catchy)) ( Most annoying song of the year) Bishop Allen (just boring) Not sure yet: Metric (It's not really good, but I'm intrigue by her singing style) Vienna Teng (she has two sides of her and the pop stuff, i love. Then her draggy folksy stuff is boring. But if i click and choose what song, it's easy to hear. But as I'm a album type, it's hard for me to not skip to her more pop songs, like Antebellum) U2 (U2 sounds like U2) Yeah Yeah Yeahs (same reason as Metric) The Antlers ('Kettering' is a really good song) Grizzly Bear (I listen to it once and liked it, but i'm waiting for a good quality rip)

Three things.
1. Idlewild played the whole set from their new album Post Electric Blues recently at London. I'm trying my very best not to listen to too many songs up on youtube because I do not want to be spoiled until I get the album in my hands. So far I've only heard one song, and I'm liking the sound of it!
2. Ash is set to release 26 singles (aptly titled A-Z Series/Singles Collection) from Sept 2009 - Sept 2010, one single every fortnight for a year! How crazy is that?!
3. Sure seems like the guys of Muse is under the Terminator infleuence, having just recently released their new album title - The Resistance - due September 2009.
Cannot. Wait.

Liz, are you expecting a fabulous album? The new album title is so weird.. I'm actually expecting at least one fabulous epic track from the album. I'm usually not up for putting high expectations on an album to avoid the disappointment, but I'm afraid Muse is already too late for that. My expectations and curiosity has only grown ever since Matt mentioned that he would include the "symphonic monster" as the last three tracks in The Resistance. and I quote: They released this pic not long ago when they were at Milan to record the orchestral parts. Having created scores myself (at least, only to the extend of passing my Theory in Music paper...), looking at that score, I'm totally overwhelmed. After much eye squinting over the title of the score from the pic, we believe the song's called The United States of Eurasia. If you think The Resistance is weird, I think the song title is ... even more out of the context lol Are you expecting a fabulous album?

September 14 is the release date. should be interesting.
Anywayssssssss.. who has been keeping track of new music?
New Idlewild (Post Electric Blues) sounds really different. Like a new band. kind of folksy.
New Wilco is okay.
Riceboy Sleeps is good ambient music.
New Sunset Rubdown is great!
New Regina Spektor is disappointing. I like 3/4 of the songs. maybe it'll grow on me.

Look what i bought today... I am happy!I'll see Muse again!Yay! November aww can I come pay you a visit then since I'll have a short term break at that point of time? Portugal + Muse should be fun. Lol. ARGHHH. They need to make a Pacific tour too!! I received Post Electric Blues earlier this week from Scotland while I was at college (a very bad week). Came back home today, all sorrows forgotten and now I'm ecstatic that I have the new Idlewild album in my hands they've even included all the names of everyone who pre-ordered in the album booklet/poster! Tragic though it may seem, but what an experience, to be a part of the progression of the project, and to feel like being a tiny part of it ;D They were probably tied up with their cashflow since leaving their label...that's probably why we had to pre-order it wayy back in December last year! A review up soon, hopefully? (I haven't written one in ages...) I have to find time to write one.

[ video] wow, this kid has over a million views on youtube already. new Dream Theater is pretty good. I like it better than their last one because it was softer and more melodic. New Mandy Moore, seems like people respect her more, but I can't get into it.
