So are Zwarte Pieten like the elves that we think of in the states? If I follow then, elves are not really these happy little productive volunteers that we think they are. They're actually naughty little delinquent hoodlum juvies who were kidnapped and put on probation doing some sort of forced community service time? That puts a new spin on it! I bet you all are saying to yourselves, "Too bad they don't have videotape of their karoake performances to share"  ....  |

Okay, here's something REALLY random. My work Holiday Party was this evening. I was in charge of karoake. We had only one Lifehouse song to choose from. There was a lull in the volunteers. So...I decided to do the  unspeakable. I completely butchered a karoake version of "You and Me." :-[I feel blasphemous  having done absolutely no justice to the song. But, I also feel a little happy  because people started waving their hands together and at least one person asked me who sang it.  They guessed the Goo Goo Dolls.  I told them it was Lifehouse. They repeated the name like they were going to try to remember it. But, I don't have a lot of confidence. Lifehouse is just not one of those catchy names. So.....upon further analysis: Sorry Lifehouse for murdering "You and Me," :'(but it might have gotten you at least one more fan. ;D ADD: NOT TO BRAG OR ANYTHING, BUT THAT'S SOME PRETTY DARN GOOD USAGE OF THE SMILEY SPECTRUM! Hahaha. I love how you used all those smilies!  I'm a terrible singer so... I understand you, I would never go to a karaoke, besides... we don't have many of those here and I'm pretty sure they don't have any Lifehouse song  I'm happy singing in my house or in the shower... where nobody listens to me, haha |

I guess you could compare them to the elves, though I think that has a different origin, but I suppose they have the same "job description" basically

Speaking about Santa Claus, Sint Nikolaas, Sinterklaas or Swiety Mikolaj in my case... Today in Poland we have Santa's holiday called Mikolajki, it means I found some sweets in my shoe this morning We get sweets and small presents on December 6th, Santa leaves them when we're sleeping Wow Daniel, I regret I couldn't see that performance in that gay club But I'm pretty sure I don't want to see you in a hospital again! Take care friend. Oh, and I had the same problem with my wisdom teeth... I was older than 25 when two doctors - they looked almost like Anthony Edwards and George Clooney - removed it... But my face got really big after these surgery... I had to go back to the hospital and when I saw 'doctor Edwards' who asked me what happened I just told him - 'it's all your work, dear". I looked as if someone hit me in the face! Since that surgery I decided to leave the other three wisdom teeth in peace at least to the moment I'll feel pain... Oh, and welcome on board, Skrappy! |

Yeah Julia thats why I'm gonna get them all out at the same time...I remember when my brother had it done his face was was really swollen.... we had our 3 year old cousin over for a visit and when she saw my brother she started hiding behind a chair and asked "who is the man with the big face?"

I wish I could find a video of Jason talking to me at York College, but security was tight at that show - I can't even find any photos. Do you remember what you were thinking at the time? Sylvia: When I picked up the phone I thought it was Eric at first because I had talked to him earlier that day. I didn't realize it was Jason until he said "Hey Grand Rapids, say hi to Daniel in Spain" and then i was just in complete shock which is why the only thing I could say when he asked me "what are you doing in Spain" was tell him what my job is lol. Paula: I was livinig/working there for about a year It was really awesome, and he actually remembered me from that day when I met him in September and gave me this "hahaha that was youuu?" look. |

Oh, poor Jason I put 'eating' because I couldn't thought of any other word, thanks for your answer (it's kind of late and it's getting difficult for me to write in English, haha, so I hope you understand what I mean ) oh I understood what you were meant . lol I just put eating in quotes because I too, couldn't think of a more appropriate word. I guess there's "sucking" on cough drops, but when someone takes so many of them, it becomes more like "eating" . |
