Okay, I promised these guys to make some noise, so here it goes.
Racoon.. it's a Dutch band that has gotten really popular in the Netherlands and other European countries in the past 2 years. They had a few minor hits in the NL before, but with their last album "Another Day" they hit big. Their singles "Love You More", "Happy Family", "Brother", "Close Your Eyes" & "Laugh About It" were all hits, most of the chart toppers.
"Another Day" has now been released in the US also. Finally. It's their first official US release, and the reviews, so far, have been enormously positive. As they should be. This album is probably one of the best, if not THE BEST, Dutch pop album of the past 20 years.
Racoon makes a blend of semi-acoustic pop/rock that should appeal to fans of Lifehouse, Crowded House, Goo Goo Dolls, Vertical Horizon, Gin Blossoms, Ryan Adams, Jayhawks, Beatles, Oasis, Feeder, Cordless, Neve, The Calling, etc. etc. (could go on here for awhile)

Happy Family is a very uptempo mid-90s like pop/rock song (like Gin Blossoms with some more guitar work)
Love You More (very Beatles-esque, Paul McCartney style songwriting)
Laugh About It (best song on the album, Crowded House vs. Vertical Horizon vs. later Goo Goo Dolls)
Brother (Crowded House vs. Oasis)
I'm comparing these songs with other bands, but you'll find that Racoon really does have a sound of their own. I'm doing this purely to give you an idea if you might like this kind of music.
