So I got in contact with a guy at WXLO which is a fairly large radio station in the Worcester County area (MA, USA) and he is interested in getting our press kit. So yeah, totally forgot to remake one for my new project (I have an older out dated one, but it goes on and on about album tracks for an album we decided not to release and hence broke up). But anyway, on to the new, is this any good? I want to know what you all thing before I send it off to the big guys... thanks in advanced =D
the Artform
Shawn Cheever - Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist
Jackie Valentine - Singer/Songwriter
In fall of 2007, the Artform became a permanent form of several past solo project's founded by Shawn Cheever. After years of writing songs, the excitement was building steadily to perform live and record a full length album. After playing several small coffee shops the next step was to record an album to draw more fans to the shows and starting playing larger venues. By January 2008, the entire album had been written and it was just a matter of recording.
Once February rolled around, the Artform was booking sessions at Shatterproof Studios in Southbridge, MA and recorded the entire album in just over one week. Near the end of recording the album, there was clearly a void in the songs - background vocals. Through ex-guitarist Dan Tokarz, Jackie Valentine joined the Artform for studio work recording background vocals on select tracks, due to time and a tight budget.
After recording the last track, "It's You" - a duet between Jackie and Shawn, it was decided Jackie was for keeps. Her voice clearly complimented the tracks she performed on and there was a deep musical connection between the two on those tracks, especially "It's You".
With their debut album set to release March 11th, 2008, the Artform is looking to start booking shows again at previously played coffee shops and smaller and larger venues in the Worcester area.
