it wasn't my car, but one of my residents (I"m an RA again) came up and said she went to go somewhere and her car was gone out of the campus parking lot. we called security and they said to call the cops, so we went down and checked all the lots on the off chance she forgot where she parked, but it wasn't anywhere. the cops to FOREVER to get there, and then the guy didn't even get out of his car, but me and Jess, another RA, stayed with her while she made her report. I feel so bad for her. she was going to the mall to get her phone fixed, because it wasn't working and she was going to go home this weekend to get her computer back from her parents because IT wasn't working, so she had no way of communicating with people and no way of getting around. I just feel awful for her. her parents were getting angry, and it wasn't her fault at all, it was in a campus lot that's lighted and patrolled, it was locked, the whole bit. I just hope everything works out for her. Sorry this is way off topic, but I had to get it out and I can't facebook note or myspace blog about it because of confidentiality reasons and obviously people from my school are on there. this was my only safe outlet. meh, thanks for reading, if you made it this far, lol!!

venting is always a good thing, and mine usually happens on facebook or myspace, but because of the nature of this venting, those two options are out.
btw, am I a terrible person because I asked my roommate to clean her own hair out of the bathtub drain?? I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but apparently...

oh, i hope the girl is ok. that really sucks for her. i actually had my car stolen on campus too. it was on my 21st birthday so you can imagine how i felt. it was in a well lit and probably one of th ebest parking lots on campus, so it's definitely not your residents fault. these things happen. the police did eventually find the car and i couldn't believe that it hadn't been ripped apart. whomever stole my car threw out all my stuff. i had a picture of me and my boyfriend in there and my tassle from highschool. of course we never did get any of that stuff back. i'll pray for your resident.

Wow, that's sucks, Lara . I hope she finds it. Most cases people steal cars for a joy ride and then leaves it on the side of the road when their done and the insurance company will give them a replacement. Often it's better one, so there is hope.

she actually found it. she helped someone move into the apartments down the block and FORGOT SHE LEFT HER CAR THERE.........can anyone say DUH??? also, I do have a single room, but I have to share the apartment, so there are three people in here instead of four and I get my own bedroom. There's more to the heinous roommate stories, because honestly, if it didn't jeopardize my job, I'd seriously kick her ass.

yeah, she felt REALLY dumb when she had to call the police station and tell them she found it. my boss was excited though, I got to tear up that incident report for our offices before anyone else saw it!!

nice one. our folks have had their car habitually pinched every 3 years or so. so we've taken the habit of hiring our cars from toyota (because my uncle works there and he can get them for us for cheaper so that it's covered for sure by insurance.
