Last night WWE.com reported that Chris Benoit, his wife, and 7 year old son were found dead in their Atlanta home. This morning reports are comming in that Chris Benoit, who had missed the weekend's WWE events including a pay-per-view event because of a familly emergency, had killed his wife and son and then himself. I am not that familiar with the wrestling world, but I know that some of my friends are. I just wanted to say... I hope the best for the surviving members of the Benoit family. I know that such a tragity is hard to deal with. I also wanted to pay my respects, and this is the only way I feel I can... Even though I was not familiar with Chris and his work, in events of what happened, I can not help but to feel sympathy for the fans, his fellow worker, and especially his friends and family members that will have to go on with the pain... When I first found out, I couldn't help to hope that this was just in the script to fool with everyones heads... but I highly doubt that this is the case! Unfortunatly, this is not the case... I really hope though, that this is NOT the real way that the Benoit family lost their lives...

I agree with that statement... I hope that his wife and child will rest in peace. I hope that the rest of the people that are effected by this will be ok too... I feel horrible for the surviving family... his parents, her parents and such... It has devistated them I am sure... this is such a hanious act! It is so hard for them to have any closer... I hate when people do stuff like this and take the easy way out... killing themself after... it shows a form of selfishness!!! I hope the best for the surviving family members and friends!

There's a lot of speculation about steroids playing a part in all this. I'm also curious to see what this real tragedy will do to shut up the ridiculousness of Vince McMahon's "death" (he faked a really dramatic death to retire from wrestling. just google him )

yeah, I have heard about people faking their own death in this business before... that is why when I first heard about this, I was really hoping to God that this was something along those lines... But then I ask myself why thy would make the whole family disappear... the more I hope that he didn't really commit such an act, the more I look at the evidence... Police said the wife was killed on Friday... and the son prolly early Sunday, and then he hung himself in the gym... Regardless if any drugs were a factor... this is such a hanious crime!

as a former wrestling fan...this was really really bizarre. I knew he missed the PPV on sunday but didn't think much of it, but when i heard that he died, along with his family...i was thinking maybe it was Phil Hartman style. But when i read that there were no guns, i knew what happen, but i was in denial. I even have his DVD where he talks about his love for his family. Benoit was one of those guys that worked really hard even though he was bad on the microphone, but he got it done in the ring. It's just weird. I was on wrestling boards and lots of people are shitting on his career already. I guess you can compare it to O.J. Simpson, great running back, but nobody remembers him for that. For Benoit, i don't know how he will be remembered. It sucks that he didnt leave a suicide note. it all seems so sudden. as for drugs, i dont know why with wrestling death, the media loves to talk about steroids. I doubt steroids had anything to do with it. but i dont know.
for me. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but if he just killed his wife and himself, I might have been okay with it. I'll be sad of course, cuz murder is never funny. But the fact is, he killed his son as well and that just saddens me. I hate potential life going to waste.

I have been staying some-what up-to-date with the events in this case. The police are under suspision that his 7 year old son was killed in a head lock! No bruises were found on his neck. Poor kid!!!! I wonder if the son's illness DID, or did NOT have a role in the killings... What ever the reason... There IS no good reason for these murders! As for how he will be remembered? I honestly think that his memory for most people will be this... that seems to be the reaction.

Well the steroid discussion is all because they know he's had them in the fairly recent past and it would fit as steroids can cause some serious mood swings and he and his wife had apparently been recently fighting over their child's illness, so really, it's not a sports thing, people are just looking for the most logical reason someone who doted so much on their family would turn around and kill them...

So latest news is... his wife's death was reported on a WWE site before the police was informed to check out the place! kinda odd... Maybe it could have been Chris, maybe someone else that posted about it... from the sounds of things, they are looking at other possibilities of the deaths. So... perhaps others were to blame, and not Chris...
As far as the sterroids being involved... who knows if Chris was or was not taking them... he was tested a few months back, and was clean... but... who is to say...

I just looked at the websites today... Apparently, there was a website that someone from CONNETICUIT posted about the murder of Nancy 14 hours before the police were told to check the home! I am starting to wonder if Chris may have not been the one that was involve... The I.P. address was no where near Georgia... what did he do? Fly to Conneticuit to post this, then fly back to kill his son and himself!? rajah.com/base/node/8393

Yeah it was just a random guy who changes the wrestling pages all the time. He heard Chris missed the match because his wife was ill and changed the page.
There's an interview with Vince McMahon around somewhere. Apparently they've dropped his faux death act altogether without any explanation.

Is "funny" though how this person just speculated about the murder... Is also funny too, if police just accept that as an excuss w/o questioning him further.

Is "funny" though how this person just speculated about the murder... Is also funny too, if police just accept that as an excuss w/o questioning him further. Well, the thing is, his I.P. address is connected to tons of other past updates to wrestling wikipedia pages. It was widely known in the wrestling community that Chris didn't show up because his wife was ill, so I'm sure there was a lot of rumors flying among wrestling message boards. The guy apparently has a history of changing the pages to reflect the rumors so there's not much question left to it. Also, he didn't speculate about the murder, he just posted that Chris's wife had died and that's what kept him from the match. Yeah, it was odd, but completely plausible, and there's nothing in the case to suggest there might've been outside help, much less help from a random fan states away...ya know? I'm sure the guy was questioned thoroughly, but there's just no connection...
