Hahaha!
I just read that one about Who We Are..."driving through the knife". That's hilarious lolol!!
With that song, did anyone else notice a t sound during the second chorus at then end of the word burn? Or did I also make that up in my mind? lol...

I REFUSE to sing "burn" - it's "bend"! Always has been Jason doesn't know what he's talking about... we break and we bend and we turn it inside out!

Alright, I just listened to both the album version and the Nissan set....he does NOT say "burn" in who we are.....the only time it even came close to possibly sounding like that is the very last time in the Nissan set and even then you can still tell it's "bend" I never read the lyrics in the damn books. They're always full of typos.

Before I looked the lyrics I thought the whole time it was bend. Burn doesn't really make sense...why would they break and burn??? That wouldn't be cool.

For real man, breaking and burning have the same effect... we need to "bend" as to adapt to situations in life thus making us "Who we Are"! I will inform Jason that his lyrics are wrong and ours are better ;D

So true...so true. I mean, if we burn...that's not really adapting, now is it. Nope. That would definitely not make us 'Who We Are'...we would just be burnt.
You should inform him of that fact. ;D

lol we're performing literary analyses on these songs . I have to agree he does seem to say "bend" in all his versions of Who We Are. But I think "burn" makes more sense in the chorus. After "And we break and we burn (or bend!)", he goes "And we turn it inside out / to take it back to the start / and through the rise and falling apart." It seems like turning inside out, going back to the start, and rising and falling apart are all such extremes, so breaking and burning kind of fits into that category of extremes. It's less dramatic to discover who they are if they just "bend" and then go through the rise and falling apart.

I think the closest that Jason's ever gotten to singing "burn" instead of "bend" is at the Taste of Addison Festival...especially the last chorus or two: www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_tGw6MH8pkThis is completely unrelated, but can someone explain what Make Me Over is about? I'm trying to learn lyrics before tomorrow's concert, and I just can't connect to this song because it doesn't make any sense to me...

i used to sing it with "bend" all the time but i think i eventually switched to burn . i still think bend makes more sense though. and about make me over...i'm still not exactly sure how i interpret it. haha, i just looked up lyrics for it and found this "Empty smile, make it hard"...make it hard?! i think that might be funnier than naked ho actually, haha.

lol part of the reason why I have never really listened to Make Me Over all that much is because the lyrics sound kind of...explicit. Maybe I need to reinterpret this song as a spiritual song?

haha wtf - "make it hard"?! I can hear that actually.. but no. I think it IS actually a religious type song .. that's how I've kind of taken it. As in make me new, make me different than I was before.. that type of thing. Lol I can't think right now, someone is standing over my shoulder but I will come back with my interpretation later tonight.

yeah, my interpretation is religious. if my brain was able to come up with an eloquent way to word it right now i would.
