So I finally got around to making another video. This is a new song for my band Long Story Short, titled "A Fool's Confession".
As some of you may know I went through a pretty dark period late 2012/early 2013. I met somebody who changed my life and helped me turn things around, so this song is written about that person.
Hope you enjoy it! (Lyrics below)
A FOOL'S CONFESSION (written by Daniel Luka)
I was a fool who got blinded by his dreams There was so much more to life I couldn't see right in front of me Every day that went by lost in thoughts of what could be Staying up late at night simply wishing you were there with me You broke the spell, you lit the match Set the fire within When you're around, then I am free I'm where I wanna be You lift me up, you give me something I never dreamed of
I was so low hanging on by every day The only color I could see was ten different shades of grey Now every morning I wake up I get lost inside your smile Looking up through my mind, take my soul out for a ride You broke the spell, you lit the match Set the fire within When you're around, then I am free I'm where I wanna be You lift me up, you give me something I never dreamed of
Now I am free Now I can feel Everything is real As life spins its wheel
You Broke the spell, you lit the match Set the fire within When you're around, then I am free I'm where I wanna be You lift me up, You lift me up, You lift me up, You give me something I never dreamed of

I dig it, man. The guitar sounds great. The main riff is very hypnotic. Half way through it I had a melody in my head that was too obvious, so I’m glad you didn’t use it. The tone of your voice in a lower register is fantastic. It’s great all around, but in the low parts is where it’s uniquely yours. It’s easy to catch a Lifehouse vibe lyrically. I’ve yet to come across anyone who says that’s a bad thing. The chorus of this song is pretty solid and I’m interested in hearing what a full band does with it. I hear much more than an acoustic driven song on this. I need to hear it a couple more times to know exactly what I’m hearing, but I definitely enjoyed this. Keep it up.

Thanks for the nice comments man. Are you still making music? And yeah, would love to give this song a studio treatment. Low on money right now so it will have to wait, but its definitely gonna happen. Let me know if youre ever down for a co-write!

Some amazing songs have never been recorded and kept from the masses because of money. No doubt about it. I’m still trying my best to write. MS has taken my ability to play guitar for very long and to write lyrics in my trusty notebook. I have a whole second album written, but health and costs are holding it up. But I’m adapting. I’m writing more on piano and typing notes out on my phone. I’m always up for a co-write. That would be a lot of fun. I bet we could come up with something quite good, actually!

Shit I didn't know you had MS. Sorry to hear that I know somebody else who has it and I know how much it is affecting him. I hope you can still manage to keep playing music somehow. Sending you lots of strength and I hope things get better for you.
