It's great to be a part of this forum. I was a long time lurker. It's fun to be discussing this new album and it's great to see how much integrity the band has with it.
Listened through for a second time and I really like it. What are some of your guys' favorite tracks?

My favourites thus far are Firing Squad and Hourglass. One for the Pain, Runaways, and Hurt This Way are really great too. I'm a bit put off by the bizarre vocals on Yesterday's Son, probably after hearing the pure and raw acoustic version; that's the only misstep on the whole record in my opinion. I consider Alien and Central Park to be the weakest tracks.

I don't think this is better than No Name Face nor does it come close but this is just my opinion. I think this is their best work since WWA however. The only thing that I didn't care for is Jason's voice during that slowed down section in Central Park. It doesn't sound like him at all... just sounds way too forced, even the pronounciation.
I can't wait to hear the other 7 bonus tracks though, especially Exhale. I hope that has the sound of their earlier work since I believe it was from the Mr. Tumnus days.

apres13 Download Google Chrome and the Hola extension, then visit Pandora.com and select US (thanks escalibur!!). I live in Canada and I've been listening to it all day! Yeah, alright Shawn, I was sort of overreacting, I'll give it to you. But as good as, as good as... And I agree about Central Park, so far it's probably my least favourite of the stuff shown off today due to the instrumentation and odd vocals (I was expecting it to be my new favourite, so I'm saddened by that). That song deserved better music to go with the lyrics - I can actually hear Matt Scannell from Vertical Horizon singing it clear as a bell. As a matter of fact, that song could have been straight off of VH's fifth album Burning the Days.

Good analogy with the vertical horizon comparison. I love vertica horizon and Matt scannell is a master when it comes to writing lyrics. I too was a little disappointed with Central Park. I'm going to give it a few more listens.

First couple run throughs and Alien is by far my favorite.
Central Park, to me, just answers the question "where was Jason when he wrote 'Walking Away'?". It doesn't necessarily sound like Walking Away, but it reminds me of it for sure; although I like Walking Away much better.
Runaways is a little weird to me to still.
One For The Pain gets better every time I play it.
Yesterday's Son. Meh. I'd prefer to delete the album version and stick with that live in studio version. This one reminds me of the I Want You To Know disaster...album version is forgettable and awkward. It also just...kind of... ends.
Hourglass! This is amazing. Absolutely love it. Totally different style and feel, yet sounds like a masterpiece built specifically for Jason's voice. Give me more of this. I wish this would have gone Matchbox 20 style from the last track on Mad Season where it becomes an incredible cinematic instrumental outro. I'd love to hear Jason do an extended like 5 minute instrumental outro to this. If only!

Btw... i don't know if I agree with the Vertical Horizon analogy, but as a huge fan of theirs I definitely appreciate the parallel. I think Matt could tweak that song and bring some clarity to it.
I tweeted Matt some time ago during a Q&A that he should work with Jason/Lifehouse. Wish that could happen. All I got was a generic "I love Jason's work!"
My real dream was for Hurricane to be a cover of Emerson Hart's Hurricane tho. Again: if only!

I found track by track to download in a website... Runaways answer my question about a potential hit and the song on the websode... The album looking far is the best of LH ever... Even the most successfull can not be compared with it.. Hourglass could have a crescendo ending like Flight.. And Stardust with LH is so much better than with KOMOX with no doubts... Best LH album ever is what I have to say

Another positive side to this album without giving away to much, is that they explored some different melodies and didn't always fall back on their basic radio friendly melodies. There are some of those on there but, they are done well. Agreed that they were done well. The one that stood out for my first listen was Hurt This Way. That little music box lick gave such a pleasant surprise to the whole song, I just had to keep listening for more. There's a simple raw honesty in Alien and that bridge about home, grounded the track for me. Could potentially pop up on TV-shows eventually? This was a solid listen overall, at least, it's one that I would be very happy to play while driving and won't actually hit stop when a friend decides to ride shotgun. Can't wait to hear many of these live (esp One for the Pain), and also to have the CD in hand!

This album is truly amazing and some of their best not to mention another 7 tracks still to come. I only hope they press this on vinyl. It's up there with NNF & SCF.
