The last two were, but Who We Are was produced by Jude and was phenomenal. Think about Broken, Learn You Inside Out, Storm, Disarray... I know IWYTK was awkward, but all the WWA bonus tracks were besides If This Is Goodbye. I've had a feeling for years that they never completed them because of time constraints and because they knew they'd be rare bonus tracks with limited circulation.
Everyone here seems to be getting their pennies in a bundle over nothing; it's one review. One. Flight is the epitome of Lifehouse: perfect amount of production, no vocal effects, lush instrumentation. Also remember that a lot of the songs on this record were written exclusively by Jason; typically it's the ones cowritten with Jude that have more production. I think Jason has wanted to get away from the over-produced sound for a while; when Smoke & Mirrors came out Bryce said in an interview that he thought it was their best record, and J visibly avoided agreeing with him. Only four tracks were cowritten with Jude this time around, and Winnie took up coproduction as well, so I'm as optimistic as ever.
Final thought: Jason said his favourite albums they've done are No Name Face and Who We Are, and that this album is closest to those two. He said he "hasn't been this excited to release an album in a long time". That's enough assurance for me!

New interview after the 95PLJ Summer Kickoff the other day. This was the first time Steve, their new touring guitarist, played with them live (and spoke in an interview): m.soundcloud.com/ralphieaversa/lifehouse-welcomes-a-new-bandThey also talk about their favourite tracks and why. J said Flight, Ricky said Hurricane, Steve said OFTP and Bryce surprisingly said Hourglass (I was expecting him to say a pop track like Runaways).

Woah... they played that song way harder than on the album! Exactly the same heavy rock sound as Stanley Climbfall... I'm impressed! Thanks for posting

New interview with Jason and hmv.com here! A few interesting tidbits: Jude showed Jason Hourglass a few years back (though it didn't have a title at that point) and the female vocalist seems to be James Newton Howard's wife!

I had a feeling that Jason is talking about James Newton Howard's wife , but now I found info (via Lifehouse Network,Twitter) that the singer's name is Jordan Whitlock.

Regardless, she's super talented! Her voice really meshes with Jason's nicely.
