Yeah man, this is a really solid song. The music, melody line and lyrics are all top notch. I do have a bug with this and Satellite (partial) that we've heard...the mix. It feels like everything has been blended together and the lyrics aren't as upfront and center as they should be. When you have a singer with a tone like Jason with lyrics like this, why muddy up the mix? Totally, I've thought they both sound really muddy especially compared to Clarity off OOTW which should be the next song after Satellites he releases (two weeks). That one is very clear, quite fitting! Satellites in particular has this problem, which isn't great because the lyrics are kinda bad to me and if the instrumentation was more nuanced, it would help the song cover up its ABCC rhyming structure and bland, too-ambiguous words. Paper Cuts reminds me SO MUCH of Clarity otherwise, it's great! Mixing was never Lifehouse's best sides after NNF. So many songs could sound much much better if they've been mixed properly. I'm not sure is this a matter of taste or just lack of skill you can't complain about because the person mixing happens to be someone close to you? Anyways... Paper Cuts reminds me a lot of NNF era with such a good lyrics and folky sound without going too far. Satellites was ok based on a few listens but Paper Cuts is much better song in my opinion. I'm very curious about the rest of the songs.

lh778 you would be correct, if you look on the lifehouse website in the tour article they said a greatest hits collection will be released on June 30 of this year. Sweet! If they are self releasing the Greatest Hits I wonder if we will get a new track or some extras like some artists tend to do. That would be sweet!

No Name Face!!! hahaha That really should be one of them....maybe they can make a 2 disc greatest hits, one being their singles (most) and then the other be a b-sides/unlreased disc! I know, I know, the chances of that happening aren't the greatest, but hey, I can dream! We will probably get about 12-15 songs of their hits.

Idk where exactly to write this in the forum so i guess i'll ask here, does anyone know of any active lifehouse tab and chord websites? i've been looking through the forum but can't seem to find any websites that are still up. I have been wanting to play some lifehouse music for a while now without having to look at ultimate guitar which does not have many lifehouse tabs but rather the generic chords to the more popular songs like you and me.

I have been wanting to play some lifehouse music for a while now without having to look at ultimate guitar which does not have many lifehouse tabs but rather the generic chords to the more popular songs like you and me. I used to run a tab/chord site years ago but as with most things, I didn't have enough time to maintain it. Ultimate-Guitar is one of the only places I know of. There was an old LH site hosted on Angelfire geocities that had a lot of tabs from DLD and SCF (Rev Cry, Mudpie, Fool, F&SC, Crown of Scars, My Precious etc.) but it's long gone. I'll see if I can find any of the older stuff if you want. As for full out tabs - there isn't much. NNF had a book, S/T had a book that wasn't very accurate IMO and then a "best of" collection which contained a mix of things from NNF -> WWA (maybe SaM too but I think it was released before that). I feel like after the WWA days, tabs and chords started to die down as far as LH is concerned. There was this guy Morten Junker who used to tab out a lot of LH songs himself and record multi-track covers (leads, bass, drums, etc.) but I haven't seen him active since maybe the S/T days. EDIT: I must say, I'm very impressed this is still here. It was geocities not angelfire. (Link: www.geocities.ws/nonsuch_rogue/ ) You NEED an ad blocker to view that site. The ads block any link from the page from working. I'd recommend saving any tabs/chords you want before they are gone for good. EDIT2: See attachment for download of all tab/chord webpages. Honestly, Ultimate Guitar is a pretty solid place for Lifehouse chords and tabs. Your best bet is to watch a YouTube video of the band playing the song and at seeing what key they'e in. Then find a link on UG to a tab/chord in that key. Lifehouse songs are not particularly hard to play. So watch a couple vids of the band/some random person playing the song, find a link on UG that is somewhat close and do your tweaking from there. If you know E-A-C#m-B, you know about 1/2 the catalog. LOL! Just kidding.

I loved reading other people's reactions and analysis of the new songs. I miss that part of sharing in the Lifehouse community. <3 For what it's worth... these are my impressions and I appreciate having a place to share them with people who might give a shit. Can I say shit on here? Thanks for keeping the forum going. I have mixed reactions to both of Jason's new songs. But mainly, I'm super happy to hear from him again... It's like we have our old friend back. I like these songs way better as whole songs than the snippets I heard out of context. I think the choruses are generally strong (ESPECIALLY PAPER CUTS explosive energy, vocals, and imagery)... super duper impressed with that. The unpredictable phrasing in the chorus is most genius. Not giving every syllable a beat... and drawing out the words on multiple notes? *chills* It feels like he's realllllly saying something important there and I'm listening. I can't help but feel like I want to work with Jason on not rhyming so much as some of you seemed to allude to before me... couldn't agree more(but then again, I have that tendency too in writing) Somehow too much rhyming makes it sound contrived and "made to fit" rather than flow. It would also be less predictable to hear something that didn't rhyme so it keeps the listener on the edge of their seat. I hate to say it but I don't generally like Jason's talky, chanty singing. lol... mainly because it doesn't feel authentic to me. It comes off to me as him trying to imitate someone else. But when he kicks into the chorus of Paper Cuts? WOW! That song comes alive! That is Jason Wadeness at it's finest... absolute perfection. Love the rhythmic cadence of the songs... they move along for sure... reminds me of a few songs on Almeria like BTR and Where I Come From, etc. (which are a couple of my favorites from that album) and I also detect "Don't Wake Me When It's Over" sounds in the songs too which makes sense since he says these were written around the time of Smoke and Mirrors. I like the lyrical content... a lot. I feel like he is really ONTO something... but maybe it's not such a bad thing to let your brain get in the way of your first take occasionally and just tweek it a little... especially Satellites *said with luv* I'm very much looking forward to hearing more! May Jason continually enjoy that search for his true, raw voice and seemingly limitless talent. And may the production NOT get in the way and only be used to give his voice the authority it deserves.

No news or postings yet for the next release and it's already Thursday... Next song is Clarity!! Apparently it's already out in Australia, really curious if it's the same as the OOTW Target version or different. Super excited to see it's more mainstream release either way, it's one of my favourite songs he's written in I don't know how long!

Did you find/see Clarity actually posted anywhere yet?

I'll have to take your word for the Australian release too since it just shows "Page Not Found" for me. O well, just glad it's still happening!

Can anyone tell from the Australian iTunes clip if it's the same as the version from Out of the Wasteland?
