I think I hear "half-hearted dream" but I can't be sure. I also feel like at some parts in the song I hear "isn't that what this life's about" and other times "love's". The very last time he signs the chorus, it definitely sounds like "life's" to me. nice work you guys! Agreed... I hear half-hearted dream Also I'm hearing "it takes more than you know to walk through the door" And "Life has a way of turning around a day. Isn't that what this life's about?" And in the bridge... "It won't be the same. I wish it could be. Both you and I could live in a memory..." Man I love this song. The ending vocals are really cool too, eh? Third time (& person) is the charm... Definitely agree! This is it.

Chapter Two sounds like it could probably be about Jason's dad ("someone who was at one point very important to me")

Chapter Two sounds like it could probably be about Jason's dad ("someone who was at one point very important to me") Without question. Jason was really struggling with that relationship when the self titled album was written. It's a pretty heartbreaking album if you take out fluff songs like You and Me and Days Go By and substitute in songs like Midnight in Philadelphia or Better Part of Me. It almost seems like it hit too close to home because that's when he started moving away from personal struggles and began writing songs with characters. I get it though. You can only write about yourself so much. I'm sure nearly every song has a hint of truth in them now but it's not as in your face as on the self titled.

That album might actually be the darkest lyrically, either it or Climbfall. Though I wouldn't call You and Me a fluff song in the same vein of Days Go By; if anything, since he proposed with it it could be considered his most personal song! With most of the ST being about the negativity happening in his life with things out of his control, I like to think that including it was a way of grounding the chaos and uncertainty with a song about something positive and totally within his control, totally removed from the negative situation. Days Go By is a total fluff song though haha Yeah I can't believe he never did anything with it until now... it's such a good song! Though the mix is muddy, this is he most fully formed of the tracks yet, with some flute and clarinet in the background and many guitar and vocal flourishes. I noticed the cover is totally different than the first four; maybe he's releasing songs in fours according to theme? The first four were countryish, a bit gloomy perhaps. That could explain why he's doing them out of order now (unless he just intended to skip Goodbye and Penelopieces). I love how he calls it 'the yellow record', like The Beatles' white album. There were several tracks from that time that were very Beatles-esque in their instrumentation and vocals, though few more than Ch2.

There were several tracks from that time that were very Beatles-esque in their instrumentation and vocals, though few more than Ch2. I might be way off base with this but I think this is also when Serge was leaving the band and I feel like that loss was something Jason was processing as well. Its often glazed over, but I think his bandmates were/are like family to him. Ultimately, I guess what matters most about it is that it makes us wonder and it's so dang relatable. We have all been there. I feel like "I have felt the same" and that is the magic of Lifehouse / Jason Wade or any music really that stays with us and touches us somehow. When we can find our identity in it. I always think of the self titled as "the jaundiced" album. And I've also been wondering about the connection between Chapter One And Chapter Two. I wonder if this song was named that originally or in retrospect? It was "more to the story" of what Chapter One touches on but doesn't get specific. Chapter One is way more general in its focus of struggle. Well... Its got us talking anyway, doesn't it? Also... I love the cover. What are people's interpretation of that artwork? I,can't tell what it is! Lol Very curious about Penelopieces. Haha... What the heck is that?

Jason is now making lyric videos with Ean Mering! He released the first one for Satellites, but it's a different mix than the version he released for purchase/streaming. Vocals have way less reverb, the acoustic guitar has less of an edge, the western-sounding piano melody at the start of the chorus is less prominent, and there is no electric guitar in the third verse. The percussion is a little different too, perhaps just tweaked in volume. I actually think this is the demo version, sounds much less complete than the iTunes one (though I do like hearing his true voice more haha). Anyway, have a look and listen:

Ohhh... interesting and good ear, King Carl. It is subtly different and I like it better. Stretch DOES sound pretty interesting. Is it Friday yet?

Stretch is out now here in Malaysia. It's a good song though the mixing is still as muddy.

What I hear from listening to Stretch:
I'm so lost inside that smile That I saw on your face today I'm laying in bed and your face is all I can see That smile is gonna be the end of me
Let's take turns falling asleep and watch each other dream We'll try our very best to stay awake If tomorrow's gonna try and take you from me Let's stretch the hours until daybreak
Your life is crashing into me Let's make it last even if it's make-believe If tonight is all that we're gonna have Then it's all that is real to me
Let's take turns falling asleep and watch each other dream We'll try our very best to stay awake If tomorrow's gonna try and take you from me Let's stretch the hours until daybreak Let's stretch the hours until they break
I'm laying in bed and your face is all I can see That smile is gonna be the end of me
Let's take turns falling asleep and watch each other dream We'll try our very best to stay awake If tomorrow's gonna try and take you from me Let's stretch the hours until daybreak Let's stretch the hours until they break

Apparently Stretch was written for Dear John. Didn't expect that at all. Jason also mentioned the next few songs are also written for films. It'd be awesome if one of the songs will have cinematic sound like Hourglass.

If the next songs will be from other films, I would LOVE to get the full song of Song For Pete from Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!! Hey, I can dream right? We will probably get Shiny Silver Beast since that was one of the songs written for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The next song is shiny silver beast for sure, he tweeted yesterday that he was excited for everyone to hear stretch and shiny silver beast. So expect that to show up in amazon for pre order soon.
