I've always been a little surprised that Lifehouse have never scored any Grammy nominations in their career so far, especially for Hanging by a Moment. That song should have picked up nominations for Song and Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, Rock Song, etc. I mean, Goo Goo Dolls and Train have both scored nominations for Iris and Drops of Jupiter, the latter wasn't even as big as HBAM in the US or nearly as good. I know the Grammy Awards aren't the be-all and end-all but I'm still a little surprised that Lifehouse have been ignored consistently over the years.

Minka and I were at the Grammy Awards Museum recently and we came to the same conclusion. Especially that some award winners or nominees careers didn't last too long. Maybe to be in a band for so many years, to be able to make music with people you're happy with, it means much more than a golden statue for one hit song. Awards are given by the people of the industry, by critics... sure it must feel great when an artists work is honoured this way. But in a long run, as long people are still there for you to listen to your songs and the artist can do what he loves for living, that's what matters the most.
