Slow motion is starting to grow on me. The lyrics are actually really pretty and the sound is gradly growing on me.
What does anyone else think?
Also, was it just me, or did anyone else mis-hear the lyrics and think he was saying 'Blooody heeeelll the days are upside down' instead of 'burning out' ? Or is it just because I am English ^_^

hahaha bloody hell instead of buring out I didn't misheard it, i just didn't know what he was saying, till i got the lyrics. Burning Hout! It's growing on me too now. I didn't really liked it in the beginning. It was a bit too slow motion if you know what i mean. It bit boring. But it's a beautiful song.

I like this song because I'm a fan of the Doors and from the very beginning Slow motion sounded like something inspired by this music. But I would cut Slow motion a bit, there's really a natural point where the song should end and after that it really gets boring. I appreciate Jason's soft vocal in it but I think it wouldn't do any harm if the band would risk and leave it as an instrumental track.

I mean no disrespect to anyone and certainly not to the band and the composers. But I find Slow Motion utterly boring. There are interesting parts in the arrangement, but it would be more suited as an instrumental bonus track or in a movie score. On Almeria it has a certain 'snooze button' effect on me, where I get lulled to sleep.
Whereas I may or may not find other tracks spectacular, they do have energy or rhythm. Slow Motion misses that. For me, in this capacity, as a pop song on a pop album, it doesn't do the trick.
That said, I do recognize sixties influences and the almost psychedelic nature of the arrangement of Slow Motion, which is an interesting experimentation. The vocals, however, don't seem to fit with the song and while it is actually one of the craftier tracks on the album it just seems out of place. Had it been used as an instrumental bonus track (preferably with a little more primitive sound, less production) or as a movie score for a space western or something along those lines, I think I would have been quite enthusiastic about it.
So, in conclusion.. it's crafty, the arrangement certainly has its positives, but it doesn't belong on a pop album like Almeria. Just my two cents.

hmm, I actually like slow motion a lot..have to agree with Julia about the organic ending of the song. and I like how the vocals go with the arrangement..but of course that's also just an opinion:D
