Because I still hope that it fails. That's the only hope for some change many of us are looking for.

what? you HOPE that it fails? did I read that right? ok..you officially have me confused.. I mean that you do not like the album does not mean that the album is a failure and they need change. I also do not think this is their absolute strongest..but that I do not feel that does not mean that I am right..wow, in words of Miranda *British tv show* RUUUUDE *with all respect, it's your opinion and you are entitled to that!!, but the way you voice it, seems a bit offensive to me:/

It's not offensive it's honest. Yes I do wish that it fails because I'm hoping for a drastic change. Like it or not that's the way it is.

You can hope for whatever you want, but even if it fails it doesn't mean they will go the way you would want them to go. I may not like all songs on Almeria, would also like to have this or that change, but I do not wish them to fail. I don't have to love all their stuff and whatever the future brings, I will always have those special songs from the past of Lifehouse and wish the best for the guys in their future!

well, yes, it's honest..but I am saying, which is also honest:p, that it offends me as a fan..I am not someone who loves everything merely because it's lifehouse..I am honest that I say that I do not like everything they do..I do not need to. but to want them to fail, that's harsh! Honest can be offensive too. they are not 2 mutually exclusive words!

but I like the changing of perspective they have going on now:/ thinking and listening to the album: are Jason's lyrics really so superficial? cell phone coma/ glory days get washed away like chalk on a wall.. it's different..but is that bad? also, I really like the music old school vibe they have going on. it might not work all the time, it might not work for you, but do you want change, or do you want them to go back to who they were? since I think that that is impossible

I think what he's trying to say (I'm just guessing here cause i feel similar to him) we want less generic pop music and more melodic rock songs with good lyrical story telling and depth. Less of the polished, safe and kind-of-predictable-Lifehouse and more of the raw energy, raw emotion, take-your-head-for-a-spin-with-these-chord-changes Lifehouse.

I just re-read my sales-figure post and it does have a negative connotation to it and i really didnt want it to come off that way. i certainly dont want Lifehouse to fail, but seeing how this new album is doing should be sending them a message from the fans. while some of it is to blame on sticker price -- a lot of it is to blame on the music. if you check out the iTunes reviews like I just did there are hundreds of us out there who are disappointed with their new direction.
in other news, isnt it kind of crazy its been 10 YEARS since Stanley Climbfall? WHOA, we are getting old.

Thanks for the graphs Indeed interesting. These graphs seem to say that Who We Are is their best album (highest on 5 stars and lowest on 1 and 2 stars). But I get your point that Almeria is doing the worst of all albums. And I have to agree that it probably is one of my least favorite albums. But then again, is that the comparison that should be made? And who are the people that gave these ratings? I would think that for Almeria, most of them are (more longtime) Lifehouse fans, since it hasn't had the big exposure to the masses as the other albums had. This is me just taking guesses. It could be helpful if the graphs also included the total number of people that gave ratings...But even if those figures are given, I guess we still won't know who the sample is representative for (Lifehouse fans or the average radio listener).

It's important to note that not every album on there had the same amount of ratings. So for example, one album might have had over 1000 ratings, while an other only had 200. The percentages are still correct, but the sample sizes from one album to the next differs.
So, the graphs might not be a perfect representation of reality but they give a rough overview on people's opinion.

Those charts seem to go pretty good in hands with how I would rate: NNF is a 100% of course, no doubt SCF has some killer songs like TMA and SCF but has some clear ripp offs from Radiohead but I still love that album LH is a decent album but I was disappointed in the all acoustic sound that got a little boring after a while, but CBD and Blind are really good. WWA got LH back on the right path again and is a really good album, Broken is amazing as are Disarray, First Time and LYIO SAM is also pretty good but is a little uneven in musical quality, FWYA could be an oldie from before DLD and is one of the best LH songs imo. Almeria has alot to prove to be graded more than decent in my book. Some pretty good tunes but the western sound got out of hand. Aftermath and OYTO saves the album above the surface.
