On the Spin Cast (Lifehouse fan podcast) we were discussing music video ideas and we also asked for feedback from people about what kinds of images they see in their minds when they listen to the song. Basically, what are your ideas for how Lifehouse might approach a music video for this? I have some really interesting ideas that were sparked from listening to other people talk about it and combining some of those ideas. So, I thought I'd start a thread here and then after we get some ideas, we can shoot Bryce a link and give Lifehouse our thoughts! Ready, set, GIDDYUP! ADD: A COUPLE OF FANS HAVE BEEN THROWING AROUND THE IDEA OF MAKING OUR OWN FAN VIDEO FOR LIFEHOUSE AND FOR SPREADING THE WORD WITH FANS SENDING IN SUBMISSIONS OF LIP SYNCHING AND PUTTING ON COWBOY HATS AND RIDING OUR BROOMSTICK HORSES AND SUCH! COULD BE FUN. ANYBODY INTERESTED IN DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT AS A GROUP?

I do not like cowboy themes, but I think it would fit quite well for BTR IIIIIIIIIFFFF it would be made in a funny way and not too serious. I think the guys in cowboy look and overacting everything would be pretty cool to see and Natasha as a can can dancer would be sweet! And instead of real horses they should use toy horses that they'd ride on. haha And I like the fan vid idea, I bet it would be really funny to see that.

Haha... yeah... we sure do get ourselves into a lot of little (or not so little) projects. I just wanted to see what other people thought because it would be fun to do, but only if lots of people will participate, I think. As much as I would LOVE to see Lifehouse do a funny video, I think this lends itself to a more "feel good" type of vibe. I would love to see this video have a global type of impact.... but in a very personal way. I read a quote (http://audioinkradio.com/2012/09/lifehouse-new-single-natasha-bedingfield/) from Jason Wade about the song, "There is this cinematic spaghetti western undercurrent breathing and moving in the confines of a pop rock song" So along those lines... I was thinking that maybe they could tap into the amazing survivor-ship of the global communities that have been affected by natural disasters of late. I see footage of how people were continuing to search for survivors after the terrible earthquakes and scenes of people working together to rebuild. But in the subtext of those scenes, maybe in the background, there is a western film playing with a romantic story of two people (like a Bonnie and Clyde type of thing going on) ... and when the dramatic drum rolls are happening, you go into that for a second and then you come back to reality. So, as it's being filmed, the viewer is coming in and out of these scenes that are all tied together somehow. Basically the feeling I was going for was that of us all... no matter who we are or where we are from being inspired by popular culture stories of the Old West and how even something like a TV show (and obviously music) can give people hope and inspiration to remember what's really important even after terrible disasters. My friend Jesse had an amazing idea for the Western vibe which was to see a man and a woman standing in the middle of a failing crop. And then showing them in some other hard times/adventures and finally at the end standing there again as the rain comes down. I thought that was incredibly powerful. I also then picture two people (not necessarily romantic, but more like family or something... a parent and child maybe) standing in some rubble looking around and just staring at each other and then walking towards each other for a hug. Combining the two somehow in a powerful way would be amazing to me. I guess I could totally see Jason and Natasha as the people looking at the crop and caught in the rain at the end, singing their hearts out in a down pour. Ok... that's my crazy thoughts. lol ADD: I think the "Western" part should be in black and white and with that old time effect and then the other part crisp with lots of color.

I guess we can be certain that this was not directed by Frank Boring.
