LOL well Julia, just think of our lil singles, you, Joyce and I also write together, but you do the most part, maybe it's the same with them. Actually we rewrite the singles lirycs, that's a lil bit different Writing them is much harder I was wondering about the three of them writing that song in context of a picture I saw somewhere in the internet: you know, it took many authors to write current Beyonce's hit and there are just a few simple words on repeat and it was compared to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" written just by the band. And then I thought of BTR as a great song but still not that complicated in comparison to lyrics of "Quasimodo", "Simon", "Stanley Climbfall" and many others written by Jason mostly on his own. Times are changing *sigh* . But that doesn't mean that I think the lyrics are bad, sometimes less words help express more, right? And I can imagine that Jude Cole and that other guy helped a lot with the melody and maybe added things to complete something Jason came up with.

I'm assuming the lyrics are primarily Jason's, the melody is a co-write with Jude (though he probably chipped in for the lyrics a little bit too) and the layers/beat/percussion arrangements (the part I least like of the song) was the other guy's job. I'm sure they had plenty of discussions about it together and suggestions probably came from all parties involved, but to me, that kind of feels like the 3 different angles to the song.

I guess I would like to see more of Bryce, Ricky and Ben (don't know why he isn't part of the studio work) working on songs with Jason as a team than some random guys although I understand that guests add some fresh blood and inspiration .

I don't think it's a bad song at all. As a lead single to an album though? Meh. Not so sure about that. I would actually like to see the band expand more on the "Here Tomorrow Gone Tomorrow" sound. It worked well in the studio and melted serious face in a live setting. Evolution as a band is fun to witness and this is just another step. How the song does is just something we'll have to wait and see.

agree that here tomorrow gone today is an awesome song! but single wise, I still think this will please the masses..and I think Koen may be right when it comes to song writing. I think the percussion is a bit too much, but I would love to hear the song live, to see how that comes across!

Now after listening the whole song I'm disappointed even more. The drumms doesnt sound good at all. Either they are mixed badly or recorded so (or even both).
The song is not bad but it is so boring. Nothing we haven't hear before. Drum machine makes me wonder can't Rick actually 'cover' all of this? There is nothing wrong with multi layer percussion but making it with electornic equipment is quite meh for a rock band (if this record will even be any rock?).
And about a collaboration I have a feeling like they both are trying to save their's careers by collaborating together. Yes none of them are in any actual 'danger' but you can't deny that LH didn't done better in the beginning than now.
I have nothing against collaboration and for me Lana Del Rey is 100 times more carismatic than Natasha. Lana could really be good with Jason in some powerful ballad.
'Just my 2 cents'.

I do not feel that we should look at this track as a rock record..
but I agree with you on the percussion part..(it does sound constructed)
collaboration wise, it's not my fave thing..I like the band just as the band..but it's something fresh, and I do not have the feeling it's a last straw.

Collaborations are common. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's a useful tool to evolve for a musician/band
