I do think there is nothing wrong with Katy perry, adam lambert, or pink..they are all amazingly talented artist in their own way..I do see your point that this song is a bit;-) poppy..but it's a Freakishlygood song! *it's not NNF or SCF, it's a whole different kind of good..for different reasons. I think it might do well as a single..

Provisional lyrics. Feel free to add/change if you hear something differently.
Look around There's no one but you and me but? here and now The waiting was meant to be?
There's a smile in my face knowing that to gather everything that's in our way we're better than alright. Walking between the raindrops Riding the aftershock Beside you We're off? into the sunset Living like there's nothing left to lose
Chasing after goldmines Crossing the fine lines, we knew Hold on and take a breath I'll be here every step Walking between the raindrops, with you
Take me now The world's such a crazy place when the walls come down you'll know I'm here to stay
There's nothing I would change I went back to gather everything that's in our way we're better than alright
Walking between the raindrops Riding the aftershock Beside you We're off into the sunset Living like there's nothing left to lose?
Chasing after goldmines Crossing the fine lines, we knew Hold on and take a breath I'll be here every step Walking between the raindrops, with you
Ooooh oooh
There's a smile on my face Knowing that to gather everything that's in our way We're better than alright
Walk in between the raindrops Ride in the aftershock Beside you We're off into the sunset Living like there's nothing left to lose
Chasing after goldmines Crossing the fine lines, we knew Hold on and take a breath I'll be here every step Walking between the raindrops, with you
For a song that was written by 3 people, this does seem a bit lazy.. but ah, who am I to say anything. I do like the random string bits in the song, and the subtle rather oddly edited "nanananananana" bits.

It's prolly riding the aftershock, but I just hear it as 'right in the aftershock'

I drove to work like crazy, couldn't leave home until I finally listen to it! I must say I love it now! I know, it's still too poppy, but Jason's voice sounds so honest in the beginning of the song that it gives me the feeling he's in the same room talking to me, and that's the good old feeling I had listening to NNF and SC...

It's prolly riding the aftershock, but I just hear it as 'right in the aftershock' Or maybe "ride in the aftershock". I'm actually listening to Natasha's voice instead of Jason's because her pronunciation is a lot clearer. Heh

I really love it. It's poppier/softer than my favorite NNF/SCF songs, but it's much more soulful than anything post 2002.
