I agree with Koen..especially when it comes to b-sides not making the cut..I think Jude is doing a good job:-). nevertheless, with regards to songs and their quality, I discover something new even in the songs I did not like at the beginning (most from the self titled one) .. so it's a process for me really. I can be dissapointed at the first listen but then completely love a song afterwards.

LOL at Kim's unicorns and rainbows haha! The taste of the average Lifehouse fan is probably very different from other people's taste and does not match commercial aspects. So may be that is why us fans dig all the B-sides and bonus tracks so much. We all have a non-commercial taste. The ooohs-and-aaaah-kind of sounds do much better on the radio, appearantly, which result in more promotion and cd sales, which results in more shows. And I am a fan of more shows, so that is good :-) I love the 'old' Lifehouse, mainly textwise and because that is when I fell in love with them, but I really like all of their albums. May be it is exactly the variety of their work that I love. There are one or two songs on the SAM album I don't really care for, but I think the rest of the album is perfect. So far I think Jude Cole did fine. Perhaps partly because of him, Lifehouse is still going strong. I am sure they are great musicians without him, but maybe if it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have been able to hit the charts. But that is just me always looking on the Bryce side ;-)

I'm not that sure about that they are 'going' strong. If you compare them @nnf era by opening for Iron Maiden, giving an award to Britney etc.. We dont see them at that stage anymore. I know maybe they want to keep 'low profile' in this but to be honest NNF era looks to be 'more mature' than WWA/SAM era. Of course this is just different opinions from different people but personally I'm a little bit affraid of losing them to some music styles I don't like eg. country, electronic, etc. Why not expore something like this LH could easly have few songs (or versions) like this: For me those are the shows that makes you 'big' or at least bigger.

Kim is an unicorn with rainbows by herself already Denny, I actually enjoy the ooohs-and-aaaahs I think LH have evolved in the last years and they are trying out new stuff, which is good, even though I'd like to have more of the old writing style, I think it's more important that they go on with the path they want to go and not the path the fans may want - whether we like it or not. If they would do what we want, it wouldn't make them happy, would only stop them from evolving and that might be even the end of the band. They're such a big part of our lifes - for the most of us since many years - so it's sometimes hard to see/accept in which directions they, or some of the songs, go. And I can only speak for myself, but I can't see for myself that there will be a day where I am not a fan anymore *shrugs*, I might don't love all the songs on SAM, but neither do I on all the other CDs and I personally think that the self titled CD was their weakest. Actually SAM and NNF are my fave LH albums so far, so I might don't think all of the SAM lyrics are amazing, but I still love the CD for other reasons a lot!

I like Minka's point that Lifehouse should follow their own path, not the path of the fans. I still do think Lifehouse is still 'going strong'. If you look at other bands, there are much more bands who have dissappeared into the unknown after a few years than the ones who are still around making good music that sells after 10 years. It just depends on how you look the band's progress at this point I guess. And I am an occasional oooohs and aaaahs lover myself too. When I heard Halfway Gone for the first time, I was as happy as when I heard HBAM for the first time! oooh ooooh!

Just for the record, in my statement earlier I didn't mean I wanted another NNF or SCF, but I would love an album that has the same effect on me as those albums had (and still have). I don't really have anything against a change in style (even though I still believe their style hasn't changed very much since the selftitled album). It has something to do with passion, emotional connection and interaction with the songs, both musically and lyrically. I agree with the points made that the live versions are so much stronger and have more connectibility, I just wish they could figure out a way to make that happen on the albums as well. And I also do agree that there is a way of overproducing the albums (not just Lifehouse, it's pretty common in the whole music industry at this point), which doesn't help the songs. But I am still very curious as to what comes up next, which I think is a good thing.

Same here, even if I think the self entitled was their weakest I stayed a fan and I don't think it'll change, their music means home to me, I am growing up along with them, no matter if what they're doing is good or a bit below my expectations, even if something changes, it'll always be a shelter or a place I will return to . Even if they record a really bad album I'll be waiting for the next but it doesn't mean I'm obsessed about them and I'll take anything just because it's theirs... I have expectations, too but if the "love" is really strong it will survive a few ups and downs and I already made my choice to stay here and see what happens next. Oh and about oohs and ahhs, it's just the case of the album version of "It is what it is" for me, I don't mind them in other songs

Lets just be curious about what the guys will come up with, and I have no doubt that it will be something great! P.S.: Still want the sensual song

My understanding of LH should follow their part is exactly what I would like them to do. For me that means please don't 'waste' half of the record for 'radio friendly' songs.
But let's wait and see. I'm still wondering is that 'Wish' song on the list in the studio the old 'Wish' or something totally new.

I'm still wondering is that 'Wish' song on the list in the studio the old 'Wish' or something totally new. It is the old Wish, they'll re-reocrd it. Kinda curious what they will come up with, but I do love the old version and think it's pretty much perfect as it is. I'd also would love if they re-record Eighties, but again, love the old version, so I guess I would prefer a new song instead anyway.

I can't even see those two songs really because when I enlarge it, it just gets blurry. .... but you guys really see "Wish" on there? ? *extreme happy face* I cannot wait to hear it. Do you think it's going to actually make the album? Does anyone know what that board actually is... like is that a track listing... or a recording schedule? Ooooooooh! Is it just me or does "Rock Me" sound like the best song title ever? I'm already getting my happy neurons firing in my brain about imagining that song.

I couldn't see a thing when I zoomed, but I would be happy for Christy if they record Wish . And if they record a song "Rock me" - Minka that may be the sensual song we are waiting for The last tour showed that Jason was really surprised that we're requesting rare songs or B-sides, I think we opened the band's eyes a bit, they were expecting the audience wants to hear the radio friendly songs and now they see we have a more sophisticated taste and they can trust in us with the less "popular" material. Maybe this discovery will have an impact on their new album.

I think the FB versions of he pictures are a lil bigger than the twitter versions and I can see Wish there. They posted earlier a pic of that board, but without the song titles, I guess it's what they need to record or what was already recorded. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150439933244025&set=a.187202414024.122062.18222514024&type=3&theaterAnd if they record a song Rock me - Minka that may be the sensual song we are waiting for The last tour showed that Jason was really surprised that we're requesting rare songs or B-sides, I think we opened the band's eyes a bit, they were expecting the audience wants to hear the radio friendly songs and now they see we have a more sophisticated taste and they can trust in us with the less popular material.
