Hey, thanks a bunch for posting this! I listen to Giel quite regularly but I guess I missed that day... I have to agree with you guys. I don't think Guus did a great job on this one. Actually it sounds as if he's grunting and his English has a very very strong Dutch accent. I feel kinda bad saying this, but I think he should stick to Dutch songs. I can't say I'm a Guus Meeuwis fan, but some of his Dutch songs I actually like. One more thing: whether you like the cover or not, he does put a very Guus Meeuwis kind of sound to the song. He makes it his own, which I usually like because it shows that the artist can do more than a regular person singing along in his/her car. Anyhow, I still think it's cool he did a cover of Lifehouse. I wish more Dutch artists would do that. Even if they botch the covers, it still gives Lifehouse some eexposure!

Thanks 4 posting this! It's cool that Guus covered All In. Such a great honor to Lifehouse! But his English is....eehhh not so good. I agree with you guys that Guus can better sing in Dutch. Jason's voice is so much better 2 good songs from Guus Meeuwis: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JylE2A5P5Qg(Brabant - this is maybe his best song) & www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nf0H_bHWp8(Zo ver weg) CHECK HIS BROTHER; he looks like STANLEY CLIMBFALL !!! I like some songs of Guus Meeuwis but I'm not a fan. I'm going crazy when I should listen to Dutch songs all day. IOS & Blof are almost the only one I like. (Of course not all songs of them..) I prefer English songs.

I actually saw/heard this right after it had aired, but I thought it was posted already.. probably saw it on twitter instead.. but yeah, didn't really like the cover to be honest, maybe if he had learned the lyrics (which aren't that hard ) beforehand it would've gone a little smoother

I think it was a rather commendable cover. Props to him for choosing Lifehouse. Sure seems like the Dutch are somewhat critical about their musicians, based on the last 5 replies. Heh.

Nooo, I kinda like Brabant (the song as well as the province). But indeed, his older songs are better. Zo Ver Weg is really nice. Het is een Nacht and Kedeng Kedeng are good for trips down memory lane I really like Blof as well. Though I think their older songs are better than their newer ones. I didn't really like their songs from their Umoja album... But I absolutely love Harder Dan Ik Hebben Kan. Sure seems like the Dutch are somewhat critical about their musicians, based on the last 5 replies. Heh. Naah, we're not just critical of our musicians, we just like to criticize musicians every chance we get
