toggle the hold switch. then hold down the menu button until the apple comes on the screen. then immediately push the play/pause button as well. should reset it nicely.. their website troubleshooting things work well usually too. if not, take it into the apple store nearest you and see if they can do something.

www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/i didnt know which model/generation you had, but this should help. you just select the one you have and they can pretty much answer any of the basic question. if not, i always recommend taking it to your local genius bar if youve got one.

What do you mean "Add the folder"? Like, just copying the folder onto your iPod? You gotta sync it through iTunes. Apple is almost retarded about keeping its consumers on a tight leash.

Yes when I try copying the folder to my ipod nothing happens and i can't click sync to put the songs on there after either.

you have to copy it to itunes first before you can put it on your ipod.... Indeed. The irritating thing about iPods is that you can't just copy music across. Add the folder to iTunes, and from there, to your iPod. Or do what I do, use a program like Floola (which is cross-platform, I believe).
