I was downloading albums on and off for the past month and not a lot appeal to me. Go point me in the right direction. So far I got: 1. The White Stripes - White Blood Cells As a whole, it's the best put together album of the year. Favorite Song: We're Going To Be Friends2. Red House Painters - Old Ramon I totally would understand if noone on the board would like this band. His voice is really dry, maybe emotionless. But I freaken love it. Favorite Song: Void, but you should listen to Wop-A-Din-Din if you're new. 3. The Appleseed Cast - Low Level Owl, Vol. 1 Every review compared Moving Mountains to this band. They suck. But this album is pretty cool. Favorite Song: Steps and Numbers4. Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - How I Long to Feel That Summer in My Heart 5. The Dismemberment Plan - Change Albums worth noting, (AKA the overrated): The Strokes - Is This It Jay-Z - The Blueprint Daft Punk - Discovery Muse - Origin of Symmetry Tool - Lateralus System of a Down - Toxicity Song: Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus your turn.

Echo Park Feeder (best album of the year, by a mile) song: Buck Rogers, Seven Days In The Sun, Turn, Oxygen, Just A Day, High (and pretty much anything else on one of the several different releases of this album)Satellite News!! Actually I was just looking through my list of albums last night and right now I've suddenly rekindled my love for Feeder. Would it be too much if they took AOTY for Comfort in Sound in 2002 as well?

that would be 03, Liz and I think I'm gonna go with a tie that year between Feeder & Honestly for 02 I think I'll go with "In Absentia" by Porcupine Tree, though Lifehouse, Nine Days, Greenwheel, Supergrass, Manic Street Preachers, Ash, Silverchair and some others are also high up there.

thank you ladies and mr. nutz. I dont know if you saw, but there's a 'best of 2000' topic that you could also post stuff...whenever you have time.
Koen, our middle ground is so huge. out of the 40 you listed, I actually downloaded/listen to 22 of them. truth! I mean, before i made the topic. yeah..50% isn't that great, but your '07 and '08 list was like...who are there people? but I was just happy to see Aphex Twin and Carbon Leaf. Not really a fan of either, but it's cool knowing someone on the board knows who they are. (Random story, the reason The National appealed to me was because their album was called Boxer which reminded me of Carbon Leaf) I'm not much of a fan of 'post-rock' pre-2003. i know. i quit that phase. I remember seeing Mercury Rev on your '08 list so i read their wikipedia page and downloaded their past albums and i would agree that the 2001 album is better, but in the end, I barely had a reaction. I just thought it was cool/mellow/dreamy.
Maybe 2-3 years ago, I would of had The Spirit Room as my number 1, but I have it too buried with High School, plus it was my first real album that i LOVED from start to finish. Not sure how to explain, but basically, i can't rank it without being bias. plus, i hit puberty. But Feeder? an alternative rock band from the UK? two of my greatest loves. I know for sure i listen to comfort in sound and i told liz that it was AWESOME, but i dont think i heard their 2001 album.
and 2002 belongs to Wilco.
