wiki============================= ============================= I wish I came up with this topic sooner. Let's see if I can make it every week (even if I get zero replies). I always find it interesting to explore old albums I was too young to experience/appreciate. Most of the albums I'll pick are already considered to be classic for whatever reason (influence, technique, charts, ect) within the music community, but any music discussion is better than none. So even if you never heard of this album, but you call yourself a fan of music, I encourage you to download it and come back. ============================= ============================= Loveless is the second album by My Bloody Valentine and is considered to be one of the best albums of the 90s and cited as the landmark record of the shoegaze genre. The vocals are soaked in the guitar so lyrics are indistinguishable.

Liz hates me cuz I consider 2003ish to be old.
So i remember giving this album a listen a few years ago and I thought it was just hipster bullshit, but Japancakes (postrock band) released a cover of the entire album and they cleaned up the whole distortion aspect and i started to enjoy the melodies more. "When You Sleep," "I Only Said" and "Soon" are probably my favorites. Whenever I discover new bands with the tag "shoegaze," I don't hear MBV's influences really. Sure it's noisy, but iono, maybe cuz they dont use the same vocals. MBV has a lighter 'lullaby' sound. Currently I like it, but I've been trying on and off for 2 years. So maybe I'm just 'used' to the songs. I didn't start bowing down to Kid A til a month ago and now it's one of my favorites. Classic might be the wrong word, but how about essential listening? sound better?
This could be like a bookclub except for old albums. And we can drink tea.
