Okay, this was my first concert ever, and gosh dang it, I'm gonna post my first review ever.
On the way to the concert, we got stuck in a little traffic, so we arrived a bit later than we'd intended, but since there were relatively few people there, we still found a really good parking spot, so that was good. Honestly, it's a good thing i don't want to kill 3 Doors Down because the security check wasn't very thorough at all. I could have hidden almost anything in my purse (besides the camera that they didn't find).
Moving on, as they scanned our tickets, all three of ours made different sounds than the others we'd seen. So we were a bit worried to say the least when they told us to enter through a certain door. Then we found out that they'd closed the balcony (probably because of the fact that not many people had actually shown up) and were gonna give us better seats. Um, yayyy. We were pretty happy, especially because we would now be sitting right next to the stage. Oh yeah.
SafetySuit's set was really enthusiastic. They really got the crowd into it. all of the members were really energetic and the guitarist was "dancing" and jumping around all over the stage the whole time. Their set only lasted about 30 minutes, which kind of saddened me, but i knew it couldn't be that long anyways. Here's their setlist (I'm not sure if this was the exact order they played it in, but it was pretty close to this):
1. What If
2. Something I Said
3. Annie
4. The Moment
5. Apology
6. Someone Like You
7. Stay
Okay, I feel a little bad because I knew almost none of Hoobastank's songs. That's probably a lot of the reason why Hoobastank's set was my least favorite. It was still pretty great though. I know that they played Out of Control, The Reason, and Crawling in the Dark. and some newer songs. Also, they played a little of a few covers: Don't Stop Believing by Journey, Another Brick in the Wall by...whoever that's by. The Reason was really cool, because before the song started the lead singer told everybody that had a lighter or a cell phone to hold it up. So the entire arena was like glowing. it was great.
3 Doors Down. Omg. Their set was like the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Before it began, we moved down some rows (from W to N) to sit where some people had been, then left during Hoobastank's set. (i can't understand why you'd leave. But anyways) We were watching their techs mess with the guitars and whatnot, then my sister elbowed me and pointed. That's when I really started freaking out (but in a good way) cuz we saw Chris, the guitarist of 3 Doors Down, and I finally realized that 3 doors down was HERE. it wasn't a youtube video or something. wow i'm rambling.
ANYway, they interacted with the crowd a lot, and the whole thing was AMAZING. here's the setlist:
1. The Champion in Me
2. Citizen/Soldier
3. Away From the Sun
4. Duck and Run
5. Be Like That
6. It's Not Me
7. Landing In London
8. Train
9. Let Me Be Myself
10. She Don't Want the World
11. Behind Those Eyes
12. Here Without You
13. Loser
Encore: (some people actually left when 3 Doors Down walked off the stage. I was like "ok, not smart, but whatever" )
14. Kryptonite (Brad, the lead singer, played the drums on this one. That was awesome. )
15. It's the Only One You've Got
16. It's Not My Time
17. When I'm Gone
As they left the stage, Brad looked directly at us. I'm just saying. It was great.
Then we hunted down the merch tables. unfortunately, Hoobastank and 3 Doors Down were nowhere to be seen. But i'm not complaining, cuz Safetysuit was out there signing autographs, taking pictures, the whole shebang. So after pushing through the crowd (my camera battery was DYING and i was gonna die if i didn't get a picture.), we finally got close enough to Doug (lead singer) and asked him to autograph our tickets and take a picture with me. We had only enough time for one picture, but we did get it. Oh yeah. I would post said picture, but it's not my camera, it's my visiting cousin's, and she didn't bring the charger with her, so not only is the camera completely dead, it's Completely Dead.
So, to summarize, I had a pretty good time. It was amazing!!
