Hey y'all, I am moving to New Orleans next week to kick off the triumphant beginning of my graduate career!! I'm so nervous, and I'm so excited at the same time!! To quote Lifehouse (you know a thread would never be complete without doing so) I'm somewhere in between what is real and just a dream. If anyone is interested in seeing the program specifics go to www.tulane.edu and then under graduate studies, you will see the school of social work. That's where I'm going to be. I'm also going to have an apartment on campus! Woohooo! Anyway, after the first few days, I'll be writing about updates and what has been going on; kind of like a blog type thing; so keep your eyes and ears open and wish me luck, please! ;D

Wow, good luck with your move. Yay! Another social worker in the house! (That's my line of work, too!) Hope you like school and enjoy the field.

Another social worker, indeed! Do you have your bachelors in it or masters or is it a work in progress? I hold my bachelors in it, but due to faulty and mega expensive transportation around the city of Baton Rouge, I haven't been able to get a job! Moving to New Orleans will provide me with an opportunity to venture out and explore my options, especially with my masters degree. Plus, the city has disabled transportation for $2 a ride.. HIP, HIP, HOORAY!!!!!!!

I have a b.a. in sociology--so I guess you'd say it's more human services than social work, per se. I work specifically with adults who have brain injuries. I love it! Transportation obstacles must be a bummer...sounds like a very positive move on your part, though.
