Karla....so sorry it's taken me so long to comment here. I've been out of town for a week and only peeking in occasionally. Thanks for the explanation of your condition. I wanted to know as well, but didn't want to spend our first visit together talking about that. I appreciate you filling us in now though! Also, best of luck working through getting your wheelchair replaced -- I KNOW it has to be frustrating! Oh, you're welcome!!  Yeah, it is very frustrating, but Ill be ok as long as I get it before i relocate to new orleans! |

Sooo, I have an update for y'all! Someone at the wheelchair office was dragging their feet for far too long; as a result, the wheelchair was denied by medicaid, so I they are having to submit all new paper work!! GRR! Not to worry though, since my move to NOLA is literally weeks away now, my mom found a way to secure the back from the borrowed wheelchair on to my other one. So, I'm going to be using my old one in the city. Yes, it's too small but it has a seat belt and footrests, which are the important things. -SIGH- It's a big mess to be disabled sometimes.....

Hey, Karla! I'm kind of new here... I've just read your story and it really moved me, you are such a strong and positive person Hope you'll get your new wheelchair very soon!  I also hope 2009 brings nothing but good things, you truly deserve it |
