Kim - glad to see you finally got to see Matt! There was no doubt in my mind that you would love him.

Maybe he'll headline in the fall and you'll get lucky and he'll have a headlining show near you. Stranger things have happened -- him headlining in the fall, I mean.

I'm hoping to see him at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago next month. I thought it was the strangest thing when I heard he was playing at a zoo. I can only imagine what he's going to have to say about that. lol...

^Awesome! I just love Matt. Have you seen him live? Omg, that's the best! I went to see him last night in Chicago. It was good, but the beginning was a nightmare. I don't have that much experience when it comes to driving in a big city, and we had to drive through part of downtown to get to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Thankfully my sister was with me, so I wasn't quite as stressed as I would have been alone. I was still pretty stressed though, lol. Anyway, the traffic was horrible and it took us a lot longer than it should have to get there. When we finally got there we got in line, and it wasn't that long. Then 10 minutes later they tell us we are in the wrong line. Lovely. We had to go get in the right line and ended up wayyyy in the back of the line. I have NEVER been this far back in a concert line! It was crazy. I was so mad and depressed, I was in a horrible mood for about half an hour lol. The line that we WERE in was for members only, and they got to go in first. By the time they let those people in, THAT line was just as long as the one we were in. That didn't help my mood lol. By the time we got in, we were pretty far back. We found an ok place to set up our chairs, but people kept sitting in front of us and blocking our view. We still ended up ok, though. The openers were Pat McGee and Brett Drennen, and I hadn't heard of either one of them lol. Pat McGee was ok, but Brett Drennen was just WEIRD. He kept dancing weirdly and gyrating and gesturing...I'm sure he thought it was good dancing, but no one else did. At one point he was even waving his butt seductively at the audience, and I was a bit disgusted lol. The his music was ok, but I didn't care for his voice. I knew it was supposed to rain that night, so I was expecting it. It rained a bit during the openers, then of course really started to rain once Matt took the stage. It was still ok though...I have never had it rain at an outdoor show and I didn't mind it. The only thing that bothered me was worrying about my camera and phone getting wet. I got ok pictures of the first opener, but since we were so far back, after it got darker my pictures got worse lol. You can't even tell it's Matt in the once I tried to take of him. I did attempt some videos, but I'm not sure how those are going to be. I just put them on my computer and haven't looked at them yet. He FINALLY did Fall to Pieces, which I have been waiting awhile to hear. I just wish I had been in front when I first heard it.  But at least I heard it!! I was so excited. Here is the setlist. This is just based on what I remember and isn't in order, lol. I may have left some out. Car Crash Come On Get Higher Fall to Pieces  I Saw Pretty the World American Girl Angel Sing Me Sweet Gone Wedding Dress Still To the Beat of Out Noisy Hearts Detroit Waves Falling Apart All We Are Wild World (Cat Stevens cover with Brett Drennen) Now that I look at that, it was a pretty long setlist! I didn't realize it at the time, lol. Then again shows always seem shorter than they really are. Haha, I guess Matt toured with Brett Drennen some time ago. He invited him out onstage to sing with him and I was like, Noooo!! Matt, nooo!! Please say he's gone home...lol! But alas...he hadn't left. lol. I tried to take a video of that as well, so maybe I can determine the name of the song.  Even if the videos are bad I may just post them anyone if the sound is good, lol.
