I also liked doing these from the old bored and thought i'd start us off. Anyone can start these when the time comes. I thought we'd just start with Disarray, and then for future ones, the one with the most votes will be up for discussion.
For those who were not on the old board, basically you post how you interpret the song chosen. Nothing is right or wrong, it's just really cool to see how many different interpretations there are.
I'll post mine later.

yeah i've really related to this song. This CD came out senior year in high school for me and I didn't really know where I was going in life, I know the general direction of who I want to be and what I want to do, but its part of growing up. Disarray is just like, "Where am I looking to go, what do I want to do?" and its like, "But it’s alright, I wouldn't have it any other way If this was any other day I pretend to know where I stand I Just don’t know..." it's alright to be lost and not know where life is taking you, thats the journey we are all on... and like Simon says "as you, i've felt the same." its really similar to simon in that struggle of life that so many people have, i know i've been struggling the past couple of months, its been a rough time, but as jason says, "But I'm alive, Everyone around me is trying to make a statement, then there's me, I’m just trying to survive" ;D its a really good meaning and it makes me feel good about what i'm doing in my life and where i'm taking myself. its a confusing world, and we don't know what we are quite doing until its too late sometimes, but we will know eventually, "Someday I'm gonna find it." that was fun!! i like this

I connected to this song more cause of the sound than the lyrics, even though personally I find it one of the strongest lyrics on the album. For me it's about inner struggle. Not so much with finding your way/not knowing where you're going, more with finding out who you are than where you are/want to be.

It's exactly 1 year since Who We Are came out. ===
Disarray, my favorite song off the album. I feel the same as everything thats been said already. It's 'okay' to not know where you are going in life. how comforting. Like my biggest battle right now is school. I just hate school. So the line that hits home for me was "Everyone around me is trying to make a statement, then there's me." When college first began, everyone told me "oh, dont worry about graduating in 4 years, not everyone does." so i just took my sweet ass time barely taking 3 or 4 classes a semester. And now, most of my friends that went out of the city for college are graduating so ...that line. Even though i have more friends that aren't graduating this year, i kinda feel that the ones that are who are ready to take on the world are surrounding me, almost looking down on me.

It's exactly 1 year since Who We Are came out. i realized that earlier today! i love disarray. it's probably my favorite lyrically on the album. i really connected with it a lot last summer and it still means a lot to me now. i LOVE hearing it live. so much energy and so much fun.

I like this song because, at least for me, it's about not knowing what's gonna happen tomorrow, but being happy with that because it's better than having your whole life planned out and being permanently stuck in a rut. and the lyric "everyone around me is trying to make a statement" is definitely me. I'm a sophomore in high school and pretty much all of my friends know exactly what they're gonna do after they graduate and what their career is going to be, etc. But, I'm still trying to figure out what the heck I want to do with my life! So this song definitely has a strong meaning for me.

yeah this is one of my favs from the cd. pretty much what other people are saying. i love that the chorus talks about finding something you want even if you don't know what it is exactly and not having your whole life planned out yet. i also love the line, "everyone's....then there's me, i'm just trying to survive." i go to art school where basically everyone is making "statements" with their work and think they being innovative. they have all these plans for moving to California as soon as they graduate. and i'm basically just trying to be good at something. i have no idea what i'm going to do after i graduate and i honestly don't want to move to cali, but i'm afraid i might have to eventually...which sucks cause i really like the midwest.
so yeah, i love this song. it actually reminds me of the songs on SCF.

so yeah, i love this song. it actually reminds me of the songs on SCF. I remember Brian & me discussing this, if Jason maybe wrote this in the SCF era, or started it then, cause it was kinda different from the rest of the CD and the chords reminded me of the SCF era.

^that would make sense. the only thing is that they said all the songs were written on the spot...but yeah, it really reminds me of songs like Spin.

i will post my response once i get more time (mom is in town and we're all going to dinner in a few minutes), but maureen... i JUST realized that picture said maureen. that is fabulous!
and i was thinking, should we have a time when we start a new one (like once every thursday, because i like thursday), or should it be just once one dies down? cause while they do have many songs.. we may run out at once a week...?

I really love this. It became one of my favorites after I heard it for the first few times. The way I look at this song is that it's about being disallusioned with the past and wondering what the future will bring. I relate to it as when I started having thoughts that were my own and not my parents. Realizing that I don't want to do what they've done but make my own path. Just about all the inner strugle and exterior conflict that caused and is still causing. Anyway, I feel I have muddled what I was trying to say.

I love this song for many reasons. I love it because it highlights the confusion that a religion belief may cause. It is a good song to help you along your way in life when you happen to get stuck in a time of confusion like everyone does at some point in their lives.

This is just one of those "me too!" posts. I had thought the same thing. It was one of the only songs that I thought sounded instrumentally like older Lifehouse stuff but I hadn't pinned it down to SCF yet. Thanks for taking it that one extra step for me. I thought it was interesting for them to put it first as a transition into some new sounds. This song is quintessential Lifehouse stuff, for sure.
