with books, not browsers.
I usually remember what page i was on last so i hardly ever need a placeholder to remind me where i was in the book. and i try my best to finish reading when i finish a chapter...but when i was younger and read lots of books, i use bookmarks because the one my teacher gave me was really pretty..

Usually, yes. My bookmarks range from absolutely random items. From a proper bookmark to collectible stickers to a piece of torn paper. Anything goes.

I almost always use bookmarks. They're usually whatever is within reach, scraps of paper, concert tickets, movie ticket stubs, I even used a napkin once when I was reading at work.

I'm with the anything goes people.. though if nothing's at hand, I'll either just leave my book open on the right page, or remember where I was.

Me too.. If by that you mean just fold the paper in the corner... Books aren't supposed to be nice, they're supposed to be read.. I say as I've dropped books in the bath several times..

I usually use one or a piece of paper or coupon to mark the page I am on.

Sometimes i use a pick to mark the page i'm on..Not the best solution, but it works if nobody moves the book from his place... But usually i use tickets from concerts, cinema, pieces of paper, etc...

I fold the corner!!! I have never even owned a book mark haha. All of my text books have folded corners but that just shows that they get used.
BTW, this was the most random question ever lol.

for some reason i thought you meant internet bookmarks and voted yes. lol
but usually i just write down the last page i was reading and close the book and then check the number later... or i leave the book with the page still open...

I have a deep respect for my books and would never bend the corners. I even give myself hand cramps holding the book open only a small bit so I don't crack the spine. With library books, I use the due date card for a bookmark. With my own books, I use receipts.
I'm currently reading a mystery - "Her Royal Spyness" by Rhys Bowen. I got it from the library so I'm using the due date card as a bookmark.
